Perhaps, perhaps not. I really wouldn't know, and neither would you. As stated in the original post, it was only a remark targeted at those gross people, with hope that they'd learn to save, rather than spend literally billions on stupid crap. It was not meant to be taken as some sort of macroeconomic analysis. :v
Well, if you make a claim that can't be supported, might as well not say it all. Could have stuck with just "What a bunch of savages".
I exaggerated when I said that, for the lulz. The actual point behind it still stands; people wouldn't bother to do that stuff had there been no major shake-up, despite being on a collision course either way.
Bad and pointless exaggeration then.
I find it amusing that you actually went and looked that up. Unfortunately for your cause, I didn't actually care about what Cynic said because I knew he did not mean for it to be taken seriously. I only posted my response the way I did because I thought it would be cute.
No, I just remembered what you said before, so the search only took a few seconds. May you forever stay emotionless towards anything written in an Internet forum.
Even if he did somehow manage to offend me with that comment, I wouldn't whine over it like some people have here. xD Learn to control your pride and prioritize.
It's not really a matter of wounded pride so much as it is correcting someone. I'll just remember to take anything not computer-related from you with a grain of salt.
I agree. But when you've got too many bad apples, you can't really blame people for doing so, no matter how unjust you may think it is.
Well, it's mainly a matter of the US being the 3rd largest nation in the world while being the only first-world country of the top 7 largest nations (population-wise) in the world. The media is so prevalent in the US, so anything crazy gets reported within minutes, while there's probably a bunch of stuff that doesn't make the news in the other 6 nations. The proportion of crazy stuff that occurs in the US could be similar to the proportion of incidences you'd find in other first-world countries, but people base their opinions on the absolute number of those incidences.
