My point in posting these articles was that a recession would make recovery in the near future nigh impossible, during which time many households, including those that managed their finances well, could collapse entirely. In addition to being heartless, throwing more recessions at America likely wouldn’t solve the problem as you theorized, and full-on anarchy and chaos might result as a consequence, much more than what is described in the OP’s article. I would think the Occupy Wall Street movement, while tremendously misguided/bereft of guidance, is an indication that people are paying attention. Come election time, the unrest and dissatisfaction in America might bear fruit. While the recession brought more attention to government actions/inaction, hitting people with more recessions while they’re down and also when they’re up doesn’t appeal to me, nor do I think they are necessary.
Everyone already knows that a recession means difficult recovery in the near future. You say recessions can't solve problems--yet they have already produced tangible good results in terms of government policy, which wouldn't have happened otherwise. Even that Occupy Wall Street movement you're so fond of wouldn't be around had the last recession not come. You may argue that a lot of problems would have also been averted has the recession not come. But this is true for the short term only. The longer you keep things afloat using tricks, the harder you screw yourself over when it all inevitably falls apart. Might as well get hit early, when it's less painful, if you're gonna get hit anyway.
Besides, according to your very own articles, good things have come from the recession as well.

It’s common sense that if you make an offensive comment, people will be upset. I wasn’t the only person in this thread that was confused as to your intentions, because, well, we're not you. Maybe you have some tunnel vision regarding the connotations contained in your posts, but if you showed your post to an objective observer that knew little to nothing about you, he or she would probably assume that you were bashing Americans as a whole. It’s not your responsibility to “spoon-feed†explanations of your comments to people, but if so many people “pointlessly QQ†about your post, perhaps that’s an indication that you might have erred on your end.
Subjective stuff. I mean, sure, it wasn't exactly PC, if you choose to see it that way. But either way, the rate of someone getting upset at something so trivial is proportional to their pride and inversely proportional to their intellect. Like that one time when a Chinese girl raged at me and at the author of an engineering article that dealt with China's bad safety record in high speed rail. Some people are just...well, they are what they are. Haha.
Anyway, back on topic:
As expected, the insanity was not limited to that LA store. The usual savagery happened in Texas as well:

Glad to hear she survived this, er.. shopping event.
I like how this blogger
put it:
These supposedly sane human beings are fighting, clawing, crawling over each other in order to get hold of what seem to be DVDs and video games.
The boxes at which they are grabbing like lions tearing at a deer carcass say "$10 while supplies last."
