The ending was just so...bleh.
It was totally rushed.
Also, was that Asuma at the end with the blue hair, because I sure as hell couldn't tell.

The ending did suck.. and the beginning of the anime I felt was rushed too... they could've made it so much better.
Yeah, probably how the classes of ALO work. Sparriggan (whatever Kirito was) was all black, Leefa's was green with blonde hair/green hair and whatnot, and whatever class Asuna chose was blue and white.
Does anyone know when the next season is coming out? or if it's going to be just as rushed? :sigh:

Yea.. She joined ALO as an Undine race. Also the Aicrad castle update on ALO actually happened after the events of GGO.. so it make it seem like they just skiped over GGO to make a clean ending with the return of the SAO castle.
Edit, Kirito also never claim he would complete all of Aicrad castle either. In the story they participated in the boss clearing until they reached floor 21. The floor where Kirito's and Asuna's home were at. Then they lost interest in boss clearing.

That's actually not true. The final events of Fairy Dance end on March 2025. The events of GGO begin during December 2025.
Quote from Volume 4:
At the same time as the collapse of SAO in November 2024, Kayaba Akihiko had also died. That became clear two months ago— It was March 2025.
Quote from Volume 7:
8 months ago-- On May 2025, Alfheim Online had its largest update up until now -- 『Floating Castle Aincradã€.
Quote from Volume 5:
Sunday, December 7th, 2025.
It may not be a special anniversary, but within Asuna's chest, the seed of a certain strong emotion had sprouted. As she began to walk along Eitai Street[9], she looked up, facing the main gates of the Imperial Palace and murmured without letting her voice out.
—Soon, it will have been one year...
Left unspoken were the words, "since my return to the real world."
After the floating castle of steel (SAO), to the bird cage in the treetops (ALO), she was subsequently rescued and returned to the real world in mid-January of this year. The fantasy world was gradually becoming a memory, but even so, she still occasionally felt strange about herself living like this in the real world.
Also, Kirito doesn't necessarily claim that he in particular would clear all of Aincrad, rather he implies that everyone together would do it.
Quote from Volume 4:
"It's for a rematch."
Kirito said in a quiet voice.
"This time, we will perfectly clear each floor, from floor one to floor one hundred, and conquer that castle. Earlier, it ended after being three-fourths completed. Lyfa..."

...So were the volumes, besides 1/2, actually in chronological order? I thought I read about the Aincrad update in the end of the second arc.

Ehhhh... the ending was OKAY....
but nothing exceptional, just like the entire series. But from seeing how this show picked up such a fanbase, I can see there being a season 3.

Just wait for it man. /a/ already branded it as the new Naruto. Good plot, shit characters, and a horrible fanbase. I would know, all of the weeaboos are watching it.

Not really. /a/ hates Naruto so much that they curbstomp any Naruto thread that pops up into the ground. They can at least tolerate SAO threads to the point where they merely troll the series. Then there's the rare nightly threads where people are talking about the Novels instead and there aren't any underage ***s like you screwing with the thread.

The ending was disappointing for me, but I totally did not expect Sugou to be that psycho in reality...
The ending scenery was so pretty, especially at the school...
