In D&D 99.9% of taverns are owned by people who used to be adventurers.. So when the very first adventurers existed where did they buy alcohol? There were no adventurers before them to run taverns...

I've been very busy lately so I haven't had the time to make a new thread. And we're totally gonna make a seperate thread just to show of Character Sheets.
Once I get all the sheets I'll gather them up and put them all in one neat tidy little post!

Also I just wanted to let you guys know you can relax abit, it's going to actually be a couple of more weeks before we start, theres no rush, we just have so many other things to adress before. I'll be PM'ing everyone who sends me their character sheets asking for their timezone, please answer in Greenwhich Mean Time, GMT, EST being GMT-6 I think and PST GMT-9 or -8

GMT - 6 is CST, Central Standard Time. PST is GMT - 8 and EST is GMT - 5.

Also, it's gonna be a long couple of weeks...nothing gets me more excited than writing characters.

Players hand book has a couple different methods, which you probably know already. I think most people have done a preset array or the point system which inevitably ends in a preset array. Only one person I know of rolled and ended up just shy of such an array, so I don't think anyone will accuse him of tomfoolery.

I also went with the book's 100gp starting point suggestion.

Well, in the end it kind of does matter, because if you use an array (standard array for example) of 16, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10 THAT is where your stats start at. You can move them around, but not change them. Using the rolling method, with enough luck you could be starting out with 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18. Then with the point method you could put all your points into the skills relevant to your class and end up with like, 17, 17, 10, 10, 10, 8.. It may not seem like a huge difference, but it can effect the game.

So, for the sake of keeping everyone around the same area we should all be using the same method. xD

The gold thing isnt much of a problem. 100g is the norm, and its barely enough to buy your starting gear with, especially if you are a mage so I've never really liked rolling to determine money.

Well, unfortunately a lot of people are probably going to have to redo a chunk of their sheets anyway. Now that the game is confirmed to be in the Forgotten Realms where the character is from needs to be addressed, and every city adds bonuses/stats/abilities which will need to be figured into all the other stuff.

Which reminds me. I'll post a full list of the possible cities, what they each give, and a short description of each city so that people can do that.

And one question, let's say I have the Linguist feat and can learn 3 new languages ...
Can I choose from Supernal or Abyssal even though I'm a level one character? I know it says I can't, but I don't know if that's just from like you can't pick them as a "starting" language. If that makes any sense.

Also, no. The reason you can't choose those two is like it says, some of the words in those languages cause uncontrollable magics to occur because they hold power. So a low level adventurer knowing them would be insanely overpowered. xD Imagine a level 1 being able to demolish a city with a single word. ><
