The main problem with using a HP potion is that it attracts aggro, which is very hard for most players to deal with (if they're in a situation where their HP is low enough that they're trying to use one). I find Corona tends to make everyone play better, simply as it heals about as much as a Fine + Normal potion (with Rank A mastery) in under a second.
Mercury trap looks pretty useless, it doesn't work on most bosses. The only use for it I see is on Colru's first phase.
Pistols I see often enough, but it does give Evie a lot more aggro management then any other class (with the ability to put all aggro onto the pistol for a moment, allowing a short breather).
Golems I only ever see used for carrying Ballista spear. That and the theoretical use of blocking Colru's unblockable.
What I think Evie's greatest utility is, is Ice Spear. It's not as good solo, but it is one of those moves that gives everyone in the party a free smash of their choice, and I can easily fit 2-3 spins with Butterfly in there. While it's not as good as Reverse Gravity (in that it doesn't stop the boss' attack), it's still a lot more utility then any other class can get (with the closest being Fissure, which requires Lv. 26 DK).
Evie's damage is still fairly good though, while it does lose to a well geared Spear Lann or Hammer Fiona. The problem being these two classes need a bit of defence to reach full potential. While she does have all this utility, it really isn't necesary for any other class to succeed. Might just be due to the fact I'm crazy, but still...
Hammer Fiona is probably the most overpowered character currently as far as I'm concerned.

On topic, I don't personally have anything against anyone (unless they're rude). But I never host so that doesn't matter. What I will say is that I am occasionally concerned with some people's stats (such as 11k attack Sword Fionas, 4k Defence Lanns, etc.), but I tend to not bring it up.
It's only really when I see 5 death notices about the same person, in a row, that I actually start feeling any negativity towards that person (and would, if I was host, kick them next time). While most of the time my concerns are pretty accurate, I still don't think I should judge before I actually see them play.
