Yeah, so i'm like, totally getting addicted to DFO. Problem is I want to stick with one character/class to at least level 18 for the 10k NX, but i'm having a hard time choosing. I've made one of each of the female characters and I liked all of them except the Gunner. Mage is okay, but I really like Fighter and Thief. I was going to go...
Fighter - Nen Master, but Striker is looking more interesting.
Thief - Rogue (fuckin'...want Shadow Dancer/Kunoichi already.)
Mage - Battle Mage or Witch.
Really, I just want to bash shit. But I can't decide which one to level up in the meantime...

Also, avatar options of thief and fighters make me rage. Thief is hella expensive and there's only one fighter set I like.
Mages, on the other hand...

The avatar sets in the cash shop are not even close to the number of avatars circulating in the game. They cycle them out all the time. You can always buy them from auctions or player stores.

Yeah, found that out myself.
So it's either Rogue/Permathief (idk looked mildly interesting), Striker, or Witch. Haven't decided yet, but i've been playing my thief (level 10, mage is 6 and fighter is 5.)

Equipment wise, Striker and rouge are more expensive to fund, since they are percent class and benefit more from highly upgraded weapon. Witch on the other hand is a fixed damage class is notoriously inexpensive to play, you can take off your weapon and still do 90%~ of your damage.
but percent classes have higher damage potential, in fact Striker and Rogue and among the best in DPS, and and nothing can outdamage a well equipped striker(other than a Male striker). Witch is still a great class though, while her damage might not be on par with percent classes, you don't really need to worry about it unless you plan to solo Rashpon or spam otherverse. plus she has great support and party skills, and one of the best holding skill in the game, she is also really fun to play.
[S]if all else fails roll a full support crusader and be carried and loved by everyone.[/S]

Asura's are hella fun to play as well, and their awakening looks dead sexy.

Yeah, I guess i'll play my mage a bit more. And the broomstick is really enticing.
I can be fully melee as a witch, right? Because that's basically what i've been doing this whole time and it's pretty lulzy, effective, and fun. Obviously i'll have to branch out more than x spam, but yeah.

You can, however melee witch are quite rare in pve, most witches uses elemental burn which is pretty hard to keep up with a melee build. And while melee is great for 1v1 and bosses it doesn't do as much overall damage as a burn aoe witches.

Once you get your 3rd tier skills as a Witch, you don't want to melee anymore since it's so inefficient for damage by then. You could max out the Light skill tree/ Broomstick Spin if you really like whacking enemies with your Broom though.

They balanced it out a lot. Fixed damage classes aren't so fixed damage anymore. And percentage damage classes aren't so percentage damage anymore. The mix is somewhere at around 30%. While that means that fixed classes are still easier to see balanced damage and percentage classes have a higher ceiling of power, its not so significantly different that you could be making choices of class around it.
Besides, capping your gear at +10 is absolutely impossibly expensive. You will not be able to do it through any practical means. If you're considering the end game while making choices for your classes, you'll have to look into the customization effects of chronicle 2 gears as well, since they can really significantly change the role and abilities of certain characters.
Overall, if you're looking for easy mode in dungeons, just roll a aoe caster and you'll have a good time. Classes like weapon masters or rangers are better suited for pvp, and their "high potential damage" will never really be met because anyone who got their chronicle 2 weapon to +14 bought 200 dollar's worth of gold from bots.

Viable but not preferred. Netherworld dungeons in particular are incredibly difficult and will absolutely require a support "role" member for the party. This is pretty much Nen Master or Crusader (or in specific cases, spitfires and soul benders count as support roles).
