  It might be a bad idea to even try and do ranked right now.
  
  It's not been that long since the reset and everyone is probably trying to get their ranks back right now, both the bad and the good players.

  Renekton is pretty much the singular example of why top lane is such a disaster right now. He's basically the benchmark for the bruiser with the overloaded kit that has ruined the lane.

  >ult is almost a free sunfire cape
  
  He pretty much has the same balance issues as Irelia except WORSE - Irelia got nerfed because she had everything in her kit, which is a justified reason to nerf her as Irelia was horrible design, except that EVERY top laner is, to one extent or another, designed like Irelia.
  
  Here are the champs that need to have their numbers Olafed and then reworked because their kits are broken by default:
  
  1: Kassadin
  2: Lee Sin
  3: Gragas (I guess he could be balanced if he couldn't body slam through walls or if his scalings were like half of what they currently are)

  Irelia got nerfed because she deals all three damage types and manages to be both a bruiser and an assassin. Her hard cc/sustain contributed as well.
  
  Renekton is bad, yes, but it's in a much simpler way. The current PBE nerfs will probably bring him in line.

  I've never had an issue with renekton toplane, i main toplane and when i see renekton picked i really don't see anything bad about it, he has a good earlygame, don't die, cs, you're more useful after 20 minutes, I'd much rather deal with him than some other picks toplane tbh.

  Renekton will zone you from CS then because you simply can't trade with him in most cases. Also the whole "renekton falls off late game" has always been really overstated (just like Lee Sin defenders have tried to make that argument for years now). Sure he won't carry the game unless he gets fed (though he more than likely will get fed) but he'll still dive your carry with Slice and Dice and at best your entire team blows your CC trying to bring him down once he pops his ult and at worst he gets a double or triple kill.

  Everyone i play, including irelia whose 'hardcountered' by renekton, against plat/diamond renektons, i have never failed to be within 10-15 cs of them unless the enemy jungler camps my lane something fierce, learn to play around renektons cooldowns and the fact he pushes the lane extremely hard and he stops being such a bully, rush armor, he stops hurting quite quickly.
  
  For instance, as irelia, i start cloth pots, rush tabi vamp sceptre and wardens mail and then sheen, he loses all ability to trade me at level 9, ontop of if i control the creepwave i lose next to no cs.
  Hell, i beat renektons as diana, someone with 0 sustain, or bully renektons from lane as poppy, mrs queen of 0 lane phase vs king of lane phase bullies.
  its easy once you count cooldowns and play around his weaknesses.
  
  As i said earlier, i'd rather play around a renekton than a lot of other potential toplaners, tankgar being one of them.

  Well you're support and also only 1k gold behind thresh. It's pretty hard to get assist streaks as a melee support like leona when it's a 4v5.

  Leona is great, one of the few champions that can do chain stun by herself.
