That sounds more like a problem with you than the game. If you don't want to use stun pets, don't. If you don't want to watch people who use stun pets, then don't. I have and don't use stun pets and I never had a problem with this.
I wasn't aware stun-pet spamming was a problem made by meh. Did I create stat inflation too?
First of all , that's not a me problem, its a Mabinogi problem.Being able to stop mobs dead in their tracks with the simple press of a button seems pretty bad, Don't you think?Imagine how players can potentially break the game with this. (This video is for example purposes only)

some elements just plan and simple needs a toning down.In games with actual GOOD designs, you will not find any of this.I know some people like yourself doesn't believe balance is possible anyway. I'm not surprised its alright with you.I'm more surprised you're knocking others ideas of rebalance.
And like I stated previously, I will rarely use stun pets. Only when im near deadly and that is my breaker. I'm talking about people who'd hardcore buy stun pets to help them run things over or stay alive forever.

You say that, then suggest a feature where people who may have become temporarily inactive could come back to their name missing because they weren't warned about it before the feature existed, and potentially kill the player's optimism for a return and quit right back again. Yes, that's the perfect way to keep a game healthy and active! > .>
Second, calm down.Re-read my last post or pay close attention to this one.
If someone
quit mabi years ago,and someone else wanted their name, what's the harm in that?
And this feature is geared towards inactive names of people who quit years ago. I think that sounds pretty fair.Since it's a
one year wait, and you
can lock your name on day 1. So if your definition of temporarily is one year, then I believe i'm not the one with a problem.Nexon could easy give a month heads up to warn players, along with the one year before it actually happens. The only way to lose your main character's name is to be extremely inactive to a point where you don't care.
Stated many times already, there's no possible way to lose your main character's name.Even if someone is really inactive from breaking, their friends could let them know whats going on.I know of some people on this very site now who quit the game, but still deal with mabi when it comes to events and new items. I'm pretty sure word can spread quick. There could even be a function to submit a ticket without being ingame,so even if you're offline due to real life things, you can just send that in.That requires hiring more people at Nexon though, their ticket system is lacking. And a messaging system similar to the old youtube, that lets you know when important changes are happening or events overall

If anything, a name change system should work similar to existing trades, where both players are still active and not dead/temp-dead accounts, and the players can offer to each swap names, or one person give their name to the other and the other be assigned a User#### as you suggested, with the option of adding items/currency in it to (like an enchant entrust).
Third. That seems like a ok suggestion to be apart OF the name changing system, but again,my idea is geared towards users who've quit long ago,and blocked off desired names. You can't trade someone name if you cannot gain access to the inactive/ dead account since they've quit.Hence, inactive. Unless you suggest hacking a user's account just to trade names, then your idea couldn't work for users who quit/ lost their account, email and pass.Which means it'd be impossible to trade some names.

What kind of respectable game would let you steal from inactive players?
If you truly quit mabi, who cares if you lost your name? I'm sure at that stage, that player is happily enjoying another company that actually knows how to run their game. The only reason I'm still here is because I believe this game is still saveable. And honestly, I could careless for negative opinions, if someone doesn't know what their talking about. I care for constructive criticism only.
