SNIP!
I read it and skipped around a bit too so sorry if this post is just pure derp. >.>;; I got no problem with guns in this game as long as they are all fintlock like and nothing more and for all races. I do not see an elf able to handle the knock back power of a shot gun at all either... So how about this for gun/race limits?
Human: Can wield small and medium sized guns.
Elf: Can wield small and medium sized guns that do not have a massive knock back. Example: Fintlock Pistol, Clock work Pistol (A larger version of the pistol really)
Giant: Can only wield Medium and large guns.
The normal shot attack for a gun is based around the gun itself. Gun base aim % then the speed the gun aims then a small buff from the mastery.
The closer you are, like normal range, the faster this % goes up. It can hit 100% in half the time as normal range.
A normal shot with a pistol is like with a bow really. It takes just as many hits to push back and knock down.
With a shotgun type weapon however the first shot on any mob will stun it for 1.8 seconds and the second will knock it clear on it's back. There is also a chance for splash dmg at any rank mastery.
With a Rifle type gun the first shot will knock back and the second shot will knock down.
With a large type gun the first shot will only knock back. Also has splash dmg.
Loading a pistol is really fast. .1 seconds. Loading a Shot gun is slower at .5 seconds, a Rifle at .8 and a large weapon at 1. (all cool downs are not based on the rank of the mastery but the gun.)
Guns use 1x1 sized bullets that can be black smithed, 50 per iron ingot. They stack up to 200. They also require gunpowder that can be bought at any general store for 2x the price it would be at the gun shop. (2 gun shops in game. One in Bangor, cus really mining isn't the best reason to visit a town... and one where you suggested, Tara.) Gun powder is a 1x2 sized item that only stacks to 100. Depending on the skill or the gun, you may need 1-4 gunpowder and bullets.
Gun singers don't use any traditional stat to buff their dmg. 35% of their dmg formula goes into their dmg. They use SP in this formula. Max dmg is based on your total SP, and min is based on your current. Guns only have a 75% balance unless holding the master title for any one of their skills.
Skills include a long range version of smash that has a different animation depending on your gun, and no splash unless using the shot gun or a large gun.
A multi shot where you over prime your gun (if used too much it can dmg the guns current durability)
A trick shot that bounces off a target to hit another target. (This has a very neat effect if it hits a few targets using def, as it knocks them all out of it and stuns them for a few moments as they try and figure out what the fk just happened. Does not pull their agro. Does reduced dmg on anything with def loaded.)
Shot counter: Get shot by a mob using a gun or bow and return a low dmg attack back to that mob with a high chance to crit, even if their shot missed you. 70% it will hit, does not use sp, does not cancel your current loaded skill.
And finally two types of paralyzing shots. One to shoot a mob in the legs for weak dmg but slows them similar to discord. And a version to hit a mob in it's arm to keep it from attacking, similar to sand blast.
All skill cool downs are based on their weapon.
There should also be different versions of amo like you said, Bullets with effects but can only be crafted through handy craft and smiting. Smith a hollow version of a bullet to put either an explosive combination inside, an element crystal, or a potion. With a potion pullet you can shoot a team mate, dealing 1dmg but healing them with what ever you shot them with, MP, SP, or HP. You can also put poison in a bullet. ANY bullet that has been filled with a substance will do 80% less dmg with a regular shot, and 45% less with a skill.
XD sorry that's just my take on it. I'd love fintlock/clockwork(lol terraria..idk if that's even the same thing) guns in this game just not modern day guns or fking machine guns >.>;;
I do like your warning shot and I think your pierce shot should work a bit like lance charge but each target on the way to the main target take 5% less dmg or something.
Kidding. But no, I'd say guns don't fit Mabinogi lore at all. Do not want.
^^^^^
Eh...if you ask me they're the same as a cylinder. As long as they're fintlock I don't care. Modern shit though, HELL NAW. >:L
