I really don't mind too much about this coming, of course it's still being tweaked around as we speak so it may seem much better when it's official.
What I see now is that the characters are too weak. One combo taken without a shield equipped will either deadly you or kill you. We need more HP/MP and Defense/Protection so now this class system gives us that opportunity. Now I know you're going to say that Alchemists/Bards do not get such stat boosts, thats why they are long ranged/barrier spikers so they can't get hit as easily as Knights. A good warrior is able to not get hit anyway so an Archer/Alchemist can do even better since they have their distance.
Now you're saying that you're being left out on new content. Well how come most of you didn't really give four craps about giant characters when they came out? Are they not new content? You left yourself out on it.
So I'll say this again, it's still being tested and tweaked around so it will become better/or disappear altogether.

rofl go play mabinogi correctly. in mabi you are not supposed to get hit. why i always play deadly and still able to solo shadow city hm and ciar adv.
Since I'm tried as hell from posting in that other thread and I chilled off by watching The Simpsons which Bart and Ralph turns old and stuff happens, I might as well post here =P
Mabinogi is a unique game, where you don't need to pick a class to play the game, you play it how you want.
Adding the class system infringes on Mabinogi's uniqueness and can possibly make the game or job oriented in the future since there can be future updates making these classes better thus making Mabinogi more of a class oriented game. With knowing that there are certain skills restricted to certain classes, this means that hybrids cannot reach their full potential of a set of skill. I feel that hybrids should be given the ability to do well in all aspects of Mabinogi because being mediocre in all aspects of the game is generally "worse" than to specialize in one aspect of Mabinogi and I don't want to see people's efforts of being a Hybrid (which is take alot of time and dedication) to go to waste.
If the class system is implemented, I feel as if the Adventurer will get shafted since really... if this update is really for balance, why would I want to waste my time being a hybrid when I can just specialize in one aspect of Mabinogi and achieve similar power? I mean since I'm only focusing on a certain aspect of Mabinogi, I am only concentrating my time on that section of Mabinogi and it should technically be faster if the requirements are the same. I get there faster by specializing in one aspect of Mabinogi while the other person worked possibly harder than me for the same result, I do not see a balance in that at all. This to me will make Mabinogi even more class oriented since they can just pick a class and be powerful.
Making skills restricted in the class system is what I do not agree with as well, to not give the player a benefit they earned (like the Will from Windmill and other stats from skills) to me seems like the person got mugged. To steal a person of their earn stats is wrong and this system allows for that to happen, I don't the reason why we need to restrict classes from using certain skills other than the fact to "make the user concentrate on a certain aspect of Mabinogi", which still makes no sense to me at all as well.
Why do we need classes to forces the user to concentrate on one aspect of Mabinogi? The player should have free will to use all skills and to enjoy the benefits of the skills and stats earn from them as they please. If a player goes from a Knight to a Wizard, the player should earn their benefit of stats gained from skills as a Knight, and when I imagine a new player pick a Knight and than switch to a Wizard to find out they kinda have to start over again, makes me think that maybe the class system places too many restriction on the player, making them stick to one class and to become more class oriented.
When I just think about the class system being added to Mabinogi, I find many negative effects of this class system and very little positive effects and I can't really accept this until it can be perfectly added into Mabinogi without shafting anyone.
