I personally enjoy these classes very much! they give players (melee only, range only, magic only, and alchemists) the option to be what we want to be and separate ourselves from people (the know it all hybrids) that penalize us every day on how"noob"we are for not learning every skill in the game. (Even though we have taken the challange to use only one type of gamestyle...hmm)
Now its our time to laugh, when(if) we get all these new skills that they don't have we can say "why are you still an adventurer noob!".
One word: Fail.
The whole thing that makes mabi awesome is the ability to do anything. Fomr mage to melee to rane, you arent tied down by classes. Adding classes ruins some of the "fantasy life" aspects.
there was little to no fantasy life aspects.
Maybe now merchants can play the game and completely avoid combat. That would be a great example of fantasy life that isn't possible now.
I hate it.
I can only use and rank my tailoring (and smithing after that) as a merchant or an adventurer.
As a merchant, my combat mastery and life drain are unusable. Without these, my HP drop by 174, my damage output decreases, and the general coolness of WMing into deadly then LDing to refill/kill something is removed. Waiting for a RB to change jobs means a choice to avoid my tailoring or avoid my dungeons. Oh joy. *yawns* No thanks.
Remaining an adventurer means the whole generation expansion is useless to me. Generation 13 Fail.

Addendum: One of the nice things about Mabi, is being able to tailor your skill set to fit your play style. While this is not gone, the entire Generation is an attempt to force people into a play style. That's very unmabi-like.

Seriously bad points. Remain an adventurer and G13 will have added leap attack, lure of ballad, a new mainstream scenario, new areas, Fiodh Adv, new equipment and the option of switching to another class to lose hybrid potential. Don't forget that Mabinogi already skill restricts you with the race system.
You people need to deal with it. The update is coming, magic wasn't nerfed (if you think it was, you can't be taken seriously) and archers got boned.

Not bad points, bad conclusion. Change "Whole Generation expansion" to "Class system".
Mabinogi does not restrict with a race system, it has Race specific skills. Race specific skills is a far cry from saying a skill you know how to use and stats corresponding to the training of those skills are now unusable/gone because you picked a job.
<.< they're not "gone" they're just not usable until you change class
