I didn't think this through. Point being, I don't see a point if the class system is going to have no other effects than skill training.
It's just a damage+skill training bonus that you get, and can change every rb, at this point, I guess.

I just finished reading this tread an I was surprised at DevCat's sudden change. I have to admit that I really like this new change, but then what's the purpose of having a class system now?
Oh and... POWA TO DA PLAYAS

maybe possible class-specific skills in the future?
honestly, i wouldn't mind if they locked some post-g12 skills to classes, but the extent to which they were doing it with all the pre-g13 skills before was ridiculous.

Wonder what they are gonna do about the whole extra XP and Success rate as a merchant thing.
Give it to all the other classes?!
I mean that WAS a dang good perk for being a merchant afterall.
Yeah, of all the things they were planning that was the one I most looked forward to.
This seems rather pointless now, you get a moderate stat boost and maybe some class specific equipment but that's it. No negative stats, no skill restrictions...basically it's hybrid or bust yet again. Even if I work 10 times as hard as the next person, if I'm melee and they're hybrid I can't hold a candle to them. In other words, giants are just as screwed as they've always been while humans are even stronger on the relative scale. If they don't have class specific skills it's literally pointless.
Oh and fyi, the archer class is probably going to be identical to the bard class without the music yet people will be totally satisfied.

This isn't the first time they've protested, and won.

Wow, the changes are pretty good, especially ignoring the bonus experience for lifeskills to make it more balance. Out of combat, magic, and alchemy skills, only alchemy skills really need the extra prof rate though.
I am surprised that the online-protest actually work really well.

Read back at page 8 or something. Someone supposedly said that Nexon changed it and announced it in some forum post.
Supposedly.
