Growing up is really cool.
It's not about getting drunk all the time now. It's not about drama or unhealthy relationships. It's about having good fun and experience good drunks and establishing healthy relationships that actually work.
I dunno. It's really beautiful. You start to worry less about the little things, like getting mad because someone never returned your phone call or text, and appreciating the bigger picture. What someone means to you, what do you do have, instead of what you don't.
I feel like I've matured a lot in these past 2 years, especially in this past one.
Feels good.

Somewhat related-

Growing up is nice, I moved out about 9 months ago to live with my girlfriend and responsibility is interesting. I'm finally getting this whole life and relationship management thing, and for some reason have gotten a huge boost in self-confidence to the point where I can interact with strangers without freaking out as much.

Growing up can be fun. It might not be stress-less, but it can be fun, sure.

Growing up sucks, I definitely agree! There is so much pain in the whole growing progress, after you are not a child any more, you would find so many troubles annoy. I miss those time when I am still a child and do not have much to worry about. :)

The biggest differences I noticed are that I just amassed more data aiding me in a more refined perception of the world, have grown the ability to carry a grudge (in no small part thanks to certain elements of the nation community) but also the ability to let go without tooooooooo much emotional stress, or in fact I just gained the ability to let go at all to begin with - which I think is just my brain trying to find techniques to cope with the terrible luck I've had with my crush choices throughout the last few years, though. Not sure if this is overall good, considering the fact that I have accordingly shrunken my social interactions down to just one person (in fact I think her continued absence for the last two weeks is the only factor that made me decide to write some stuff again here so I avoid cocooning myself up completely).
Looking back I don't think I matured a lot, at least not if maturity is supposed to be a net positive change. But I guess it's not the worst way to go through a year.

It's my life's goal to be as immature as possible.

I look forward to paying my taxes actually. Right now with my low income I only pay for social insurance.
You still have loads more than as a kid or even teenager anyway, unless you were a spoiled brat or are extremely unlucky.

Bills =/= Taxes
Oh god the electric bill. Oh there is the gas bill right after. Internet is so overpriced. Water is
that expensive? Wait sewage bills are even more than the water bill? Wait garbage disposal requires paid subscription? Car insurance? Medical insurance? Student loans? Your monthly rent/mortgage?
They pound away at your human soul until you are a crippled frail being of hopelessness.

You described a grown up's life so perfectly.

Im so glad my neighborhood isnt charged for garbage pick up. If you want a recycling bin you pay a one time fee for the actual bin, but other than that, nope. And I wont have to pay health insurance until im 26. Thank jesus my mother works at a government hospital.
