Clothing is critical/max based with restored, light is pure max with slight crit deductions and some defense.
Heavy armor is... Defensive based.

People are so used to having 80% Balance that they think it is hell to even go a few percents below that?
Gee.
You could just sacrifice a measly 6 Max. Damage for 10% Balance.
Sight > Conceptual.

Then make it so everyone gets equally penalized from heavy armour.
Light armour enchants are barely better then clothing enchants for max, anyway.
@Bohemian set effect: Mag set effect isn't super useful for hybridding, unlike thames set effect.

Apparently it's the end of all balance! Or so I've read in these past few pages of... complaining.

Someone who doesn't share an opinion with you! Must be the end of the world.

I dunno. I really don't care much for the loss of balance. Plus, it's still in Test so there's no point for me complaining about stuff that hasn't even arrived in our region.
Also. If you feel so strongly about it then you should post in KR forums, even with google translate. Who knows you might get to them...

Such as? Mana reduction, which can be obtained from a combination of enchants, hats, shoes and the construct alch talent?
Hebona effect, which doesn't have a chest piece?
The problem is that mages can wear a refined imp mythril lance armour or something and get away with being super tanky as hell.
Last I checked, Mana Reduction Effect from Construct Alchemist doesn't contribute to Mana Usage Reduction Set Effect. It only lessen mana usage during Synthesis.
And yes, some mages can be tanky with heavy armor but they will have to spend more mana than when they're wearing a Mana Usage Reduction Set.
Still, there's really no point getting worked up over changes in testing server. Spare yourself from frustration.

Probably wouldn't be hard to track since you have at least a thousand years of experience in [S]snoriing[/S] sleeping.
Loving the Magic Buff, by the way.

Not quite.
And paying 10% more mp is not a high price to pay for...you know...essentially becoming the mage version of the terminator.

Indeed! It's great that magic is getting some love, because it's something that i've always wanted to try out and I know at least one person that will be practically screaming for joy XD

So wait, step 6 wands are going to give 80% magic attack?
Neato I guess?
Anyway, this isn't...quite what I wanted; magic's problem isn't so much output but speed and flexibility, and while making magic's output bigger in order to directly compensate for the speed isn't a horrible idea, it still doesn't really solve the "durr those 2 puppeteers just climaticed the room before I got my Thunder/IS/FB off" issue. I was thinking that keeping the same damage (or even nerfing it a bit) and then shortening the load times/adding cooldowns would be a better solution. Really, it helps but it doesn't solve the main problem with magic, which isn't that it's too weak, it's that it's too SLOW for most content. Again, the puppeteers are still going to Climatic the entire room/the rangers will Crash he entire room before you get anything decent off.
But for NPC/Lord/stuff like that, it's pretty welcome. Just invest in speedcast reforges for stuff like Fireball and Thunder. And reforged Hailstorm is going to swing HARD. If I ever get a level 15-20 Hailstorm staff, it'll replace Fighter as my primary "boss-killing" skill unless there's nobody else to apply the Uppercut debuff (and if I get the new stave that casts all int magics without charges, oh boy).
Still not enough for me to go GM Mage > GM Fighter though, 35 will > 4% matk.
Also is there going to be a change to base damage or not?
Also, it's easy to get mana reduction with heavy armor, you just have to use Trinity stuff. I wonder if with R1 tailoring + tailoring talent + rain + monday + perfect quality reforge, it's possible to get 4 mana reduction BBFs?

This update is making me rank hailstorm just because I damn well can.

All of this talk of armor and cloth reminds me that females get away scott free with my problem. I dress as my puppet and get -50% to my stat till I rank. They dress as theirs and hit as hard as they do now. Just when I thought males were getting some justice with Tengu! Anyone know how much % of damage I'd realistically lose with r1 heavy armor?

Who knows? They're still tinkering with it in Test. And I sorta agree with you about the problem magic has... Method of damage delivery. While 2 lulpuppetact7 clears a room. mages have to sit there... and charge, and wait for standby and... Yeah.
