All of this talk of armor and cloth reminds me that females get away scott free with my problem. I dress as my puppet and get -50% to my stat till I rank. They dress as theirs and hit as hard as they do now. Just when I thought males were getting some justice with Tengu! Anyone know how much % of damage I'd realistically lose with r1 heavy armor?
Enough to spill milk and proceed to cry about it.

Not quite.
And paying 10% more mp is not a high price to pay for...you know...essentially becoming the mage version of the terminator.
Looks like I missed that one. Still, mage is supposed to dish out massive AoE nuke from a safe distance so being tanky doesn't really help much.

Ehhh, depends on for what skills? It will be more of a problem to Archers than it'd be to Puppeteers.

step 6 wands are going to give 80% magic attack?
Did I miss that while reading this whole thread or is that just an assumption?

Hailstorm and the bolts like to say hi.
Plus you can't always get safe situations.

I was thinking with puppets. Like say 50% of my damage is str and 50% is dex. Puppets only get 70% of what I have while missing 35% of that dex. I should have gone to bed.

My head doesn't want to work.
You'll be missing out on (Max dex*.35*.7)/3.5 damage.

I'm scared and confuse right now, was busying playing as a melee giant and now with my measly dex being useless I don't know what to think right now, I saved up enough AP for the core skill set of gunner, but it looks like that was all for naught and was better off going with my original plan of being a mage. Should I forgo gunner for mage, or should I just do a wait and see approach? Also what are the buff for defense and winguard anyway? Because it looks like it might be useful, well windguard at least, though now I can finish ranking taunt been stuck on rank 6 for some time now.
Other than that, the update looks fine, though I'm screwed for the most part. :skip:

It's not even a big deal. It's still pending test. Who knows, they might adjust the values. It's useless to worry about it until it's set in stone. There's no need to propagate fear and confusion over TEST SERVER values.

Losing damage isn't a big deal.
Okay.

Okay.
Like you said, some people play for the Fashionogi. Those obviously don't care.
IF you're the one who ends up losing damage then it's your problem no?

Don't forget that Puppets have 190 Max. Damage (Rank 1) on their own.
+ Control Marionette Bonus.
+ Enchants.
But assuming basic things:
500 STR & 500 DEX. (= ([500 + 500] / 3.5) x 0.7 = 199 (200?) Max)
Rank 1 Pierrot or Colossus. (190 Max.)
Rank 1 Control Marionette. (+55 Max.)
So currently you'd have 199(200?)+ 190 + 55 = 444(445?) Max Damage using Puppets.
With the update...
500 STR & 500 DEX. (= ([500 + {500*0.65}] / 3.5) x 0.7 = 164(165?) Max)
Rank 1 Pierrot or Colossus. (190 Max.)
Rank 1 Control Marionette. (+55 Max.)
Which results in 164(165)+ 190 + 55 = 409(410?) Max. Damage using Puppets.
Of course I'm still leaving out Weapons and Enchants and such, but it can give you a rough idea.
Edit: Awww man, I'm slow.
Edit 2: Totally forgot about the 70% thing at first.

1)If you don't care, then why even bother arguing the point?
2)If you're arguing the point just to be a jerk, refer to step 1

I was merely making a statement about how people should not take Test Server data so seriously as though it were already in our Region. There's no one being a jerk here, but since you apparently took it that way then be my guest. If you are so adamant about those things affecting you then you should complain towards those who can actually do something. Who knows? Maybe if you post in KR Mabi forums you'll move them.

Anyway, the magic damage buff is good (though how will changing the %s on upgrades alter it?), but speed is still a major concern.
Maybe a chain int magic skill, similar to chain cylinder? Mores chaincasting is completely off the table, but just copypasting Alchemy's chain cylinder to magic probably pushes it over the top.
