To sum it up more simply...
[7:04:13 PM] radionoise: according to soluna only fireball and thunder are buffed
[7:04:18 PM] radionoise: IS, hail and firebolt are nerfed
[7:04:39 PM] Roy: what about blaze?
[7:04:42 PM] Roy: blaze remains the same?
[7:04:45 PM] Joey (who else): Buffed to high hell
[7:04:53 PM] radionoise: >overall only Fireball and Thunder is Buffed in terms of dmg, the others like Hail, Firebolt, and IS is nerfed
[7:05:12 PM] Roy: well apparantly blaze is also buffed according to Joey radi
[7:05:19 PM] radionoise: blaze, mana shield and healing have their own formulas
[7:05:28 PM] Joey (who else): They will probably be rebalanced
[7:05:31 PM] radionoise: so they're buffed unless they decide to scale those formulas to the new stats
[7:05:34 PM] Joey (who else): Blaze does too much damage
[7:05:44 PM] Joey (who else): 21k non crits...is just crazy
IS, Hailstorm, Firebolt, etc. being nerfed is actually incorrect because with the new magic formula, the damage is still bit higher than what it would be with our current magic formula right now.

Hmm... I would like my previous post answered too, if possible.
Oh i thought it was already answered, yes trans stats counts IIRC

Interesting, so... for the Stam based one... you'd want to chug down stamina pot every once a while to get the best max damage?
And as for current HP/MP/Stam... does it count in Trans as well... like... if you have 500 MP and went into trans and got 1k MP... the damage would increase because you have current MP at 1k, right?
That would be incorrect I believe
[Image: http://puu.sh/2l5VN]
Well actually no, that would be correct. Nevermind.
So in regards to firebolt not being nerfed both Radi and Soluna are wrong? Those are usually trustworthy sources I'd say...

I see. That's good... but Kingofrunes's post made me confused... which one is right? s:

I derped. It's goes by remaining MP so as long as you have 1k/1k MP it would take the 1k MP number. It was merely demonstrating that it's based on the remaining value, not max.
But for life drain, you want less remaining HP. :P

Oh okay.
And also... here to people who think Hailstorm, Ice spear, and etcetera is being nerfed... that is incorrect.
Fireball damage skill bonus is 9.
Shockwave is 2.
Thunder and Hailstorm is 1.4.
Ice spear is 1.
Ice Bolt is 0.4.
Fire Bolt is 0.5.
Lightning Bolt is 0.6.
Blaze is 0.1.
So lets say... for example, we’re going to compare the base max damage of Hailstorm with our current formula and the new formula.
300 x 1.75 x 1.1 = 577.5 ..... That’s what we’d get at 1500 Int for Hailstorm at current formula.
Now lets calculate the damage for the new formula with 1500 Int as well for Hailstorm.
300 + ((1500/5) x 1.4)) = 300 + 420 =720 ..... That’s our damage base with new magic formula.
Now lets calculate the damage of both current and new formula for Ice spear with 1500 Int.
240 x 1.75 x 1.1 = 462 ..... base damage of current formula.
240 + ((1500/5) x 0.9)) = 240 + 270 = 510 ..... base damage of new formula.
Can you see the difference now? Ice spear, Hailstorm, etc... aren’t exactly getting “nerfed†as many people make it sound like it is.

I see, I wonder if they were making assumptions with lower int values? Was trying to hunt down the magic coefficients. So far from what was tested though, Blaze + IS made a massive come back. 21k non crit on a Blaze after IS?

Because Blaze currently doesn't even CRIT for 21k in its best case scenario.

Blaze has non KB based damage, and KB based damage. IS + Blaze is the preferred KB based combo attack.
Also I'm not fully convinced on the firebolt,IS,Hailstorm front.
The base damage for the spells were also changed, not just the coefficients and formulas. Once the server comes back I'll check on that to be certain.

According to few people who tested the server, they claimed that the base damage for each magic skill remain the same so...

I wonder if there is more to the magic formula that we are missing. On a one charge level everything checks out with your math but with the unknown factor of where the charge level goes in the new formula it's hard to say if it's nerfed or not without doing a comparison at the exact same stats of the test server versus live.

Mana shield did get a nerf then. (in a sense)
To alchemists, Alchemy damage is based on CURRENT HP/MP/SP.
So Water alchemists have to refrain from using mana shield.
And Flame Bursters have to use mana shield.
DECISIONS.
This turns me off, needs adjustments.
As a squishy Water alchemist, I do need my mana shield.
