Curious about the balance thing... masteries still give balance right? Indexu mentioned some changes to a few masteries. If so, you'd only need to get 15 balance from weapons/enchants if say, sword mastery's 15 balance coupled with 50 from dex, right?

If the damage formula used to calculate damage with spells doesn't change then id be a 150% increase in damage to all skills for end game mages with 1000 int. turning their crit damage into their regular damage...

I think it looks good. It doesn't let you do both at once but enhances the desired outcome should you choose: defensive or offensive.

Ah, it seems all shields just get a "special" type of auto def that activates randomly, does not reduce damage.
Also, heavy armor = higher defensive play. To make it more interesting, you can combine it with a shield for more added fun.
Clothes don't have their own mastery but they allow more hybrid flexibility, the same with light armor.
So hybridbility is not killed, but rather you can choose to specialize.
Heavy Armor makes great for a magic/sword hybrid, or even Gunner/Warrior if they wish.

@Kenero: Yes, hybridding is dead as a doornail. What about those that hybrid melee/range? Puppets with heavy armour since dex is boned? Not to mention the incredibly annoying loss of balance so all your average damage goes down.
