I'd like to think that anyone who has doubts about who Ashi is would set them aside if they're so concerned with the state of the forums.
Even though I was pretty vocal in the "TELL ME WHO YOU ARE I DON'T TRUST YOU GROUP," I don't care any more because I want to see action. Ashi is how we're going to get it, folks.
I have my suspicions but it doesn't matter; if Ashi wants to hide her identity, then so be it. Doesn't matter to us, it's her business.

Honestly, I miss all the drama by staying in the Mabinogi forums...
Especially considering that the Community section is at the bottom of the page.

I seriously don't know why people are complaining. Yes, I made a comment about the identity of Ashi, hoping that it's not who I think it is, upon which I was told a few times that it's not. I know all of the staff members, having helped pick them out with TA (because at the time, they were the only people who proved to be staff material), and I trust their decision, despite the person's account age. Hell, to be honest, if the comment "this person has been here for a while" wasn't made, I probably wouldn't have even made the comment to begin with, since I trust them to make a good (if questionable if the person who I thought it was was the person that Ashi used to be) decision for the good of the community.
Unfortunately, the overall attitude of the community is just too bloodthirsty, and people will attack others just for the sake of attacking them. People no longer respect the wishes of the staff, and would rather drag petty disputes out in public instead of just ignoring each other, dropping the issue, or taking it to PMs so that others don't have to see it. Yes, people will get on other people's nerves, and the larger a community gets, the chances of this happening increases. But that doesn't mean you have to act on that enmity towards others. And right now, the staff is going through a lot of crap because you guys can't just go "congratulations" and wait.
Hell, Ashi said herself a few times that she's not going to do anything moderation/administration unless absolutely necessary, so I really don't see the need for people to go after her, as well as the rest of the staff for deciding to let her join. They're just doing their job, as Chise said, as volunteers because they care about the community. Hell, I don't even see why people are claiming the staff isn't doing their job. Nobody gave a damn when I was the only active staff member on this site, or said anything about the other staff members slacking off. Hell, to be honest, I'm surprised that nobody that's currently on the staff has quit yet because of you people. And I was seriously considering talking to Chise to see if I could become a staff member again, even if only a mod so that I can help out around the site to ease some of the stress the staff is having. But if you guys are going to be ungrateful for no real reason, then the only thing I can say to the staff, and I seriously hate to say this seriously, and not jokingly like I do in the Skype chat:
Quit. You guys are too awesome to put up with the brats that this site now houses. We raised the age "restriction" from 13 to 16 because we expected the community to be mature enough to handle general forum etiquette and topics, but clearly your jobs aren't moderators, but baby sitters, so as I said, quit. There's no need for you guys to become more cynical than you probably have already become because of these guys. When I jokingly said before that I should become admin so that things could get done, and Juno told me that I wasn't going to, because he didn't want me to become stressed out again, so I see no reason for you guys to.
That's just my two cents on this whole stupid event that's happening.

You guys shouldn't take the staff here for granted, no matter what your personal beliefs or mindsets are.
We are lucky to have good people to monitor these forums, it's a hell of alot better than having nexon's dickwad team of forum monitors who'll insult you, belittle you, and will treat you like scum for just posting.
I know I've had a couple behavioral problems regarding some members in the past, but I deserved the infractions I've gotten because I was a passive asshole towards those I've harassed. All I'm saying is, if it were Nexon's little batch of cronies instead of our monitors, we'd all get banned, nation would become incompetent like the nexon forum userbase, or just as bad as basilmarket in general due to rule-bending e-peening dickery.

JUNO WAS A HE???
/mind blown
Anyway what I took from that was that being staff really does make you more cynical. You see all the annoying posts that get deleted so the members don't see it, and you start getting really fed up of reading posts from people you don't like -- because you're a mod! you can't monitor people if they're on your ignore list.
There was something else I came in here to say but honestly I forgot what it was when I read that Juno was a dude.
I'm going to go back to watching Game of Thrones now.

When I was a mod, there wasn't too much drama. Everything was happidy-diddly.
(butthenthatwasbeforethemassivedramamissilewithmodsquittingandohishouldstoptalkingnowokay)
And I was even mod of the spam section (which seems to be the source of some DRAM-DRAMS.)
Just hopefully Ashi isn't who I think they are. However, judging by their helpfulness and demeanor, it can't be.
EDIT: Found the user I hoped Ashi wasn't yaaaaaaaaay

amen to that
I realized at one point I was only posting in the staff forum because I'd grown to hate half the members since I always had to delete their posts.

Haha, I saw someone complain about secrecy and mentioning the Global Ignore case from the past as an example. Except it just so happens that I was the one who started
the thread about it (badass thread it was, I must say) and said person was rather strongly opposed to my ideas at the time because they were on the other side. Perspectives change, it seems! :P
But even disregarding that fun fact, one must still realize that this situation is not the same. I had a problem with GI because we could not quantify the results, among other things. Here, however, we can quantify the outcome easily: Just be cool, go with the flow and see how things turn out. You can also review her
past posts. I don't know about you guys, but when Ashikoki joined it was obvious to me that they would be an outstanding, intelligent addition to the community. Quite refreshing, to be honest, as Nation is rather lacking in these. So when it was anounced that she'd be an Admin, I had no issues with that.
In fact, it actually ties in quite nicely with the argument I've made in the previously linked thread: Staff need to lead by example; to be role models for members, as opposed to simply enforce rules. They need to be proper community leaders. Ashikoki, regardless of what other identities she may have, has so far proven herself to be a good fit for just such a role.
Those who know me (and those who've read the GI thread) would know that I have absolutely no issues with calling out someone on the staff if they are doing something bad. I'd also like to think that I posses a good amount of healthy skepticism, yet I honestly see no issue here. [S]If I did, I'd be gladly cooking up another badass thread right now.[/S] So I really believe that some of you guys need to take a deep breath, relax, and see how this goes. You just may be pleasantly surprised.
If I had to have any reservations about this, it would be the fear that she would stop being awesome eventually due to her role within the staff (and all the stupid people you gotta deal with as a result). ;_;

That's just my two cents on this whole stupid event that's happening.
My opinion is my own, not the opinion of the staff as a collective.
I don't mind people not being grateful. I didn't get into this for recognition or anytying. I got into this because I like the community, and that's the only reason I stay.
There used to be only one person on this community that I could say I hated, and I blacklisted them for a while until I knew I could deal with them being themselves. This was an issue of me greatly disagreeing with this person's opinions, but I realized that my feelings could be coming out of a place of immaturity. The people I hate, I don't hate because of their opinion. I hate them because they've warped my view of the community in a negative way. It's almost as if being a staff member leads to a hate of a certain kind of person. There are certain kinds of people that I just want to give up on. The only reason I don't is for the sake of the people around them, and because it's my
job to care. Even though banning them forever would make my job and others' jobs a whole lot easier, I choose not to ban them, simply because it's not the
right thing to do. I doubt people will believe me when I say this, but that's how it is.
As much as they want to tear my hair out, as much as they think I hate them (and some of them are probably right at this point, because of how much drama there's been), I will never ban someone out of spite. I gave up on interacting with those people. I'll just do my job like I'm supposed to. I'm not doing this for them. They can hate me as much as they want. So long as I can still do my job as a staff member, I'm fine.
I'm still in this for the same reason I got into it in the first place: No matter how stressful it can be sometimes, I like this community, and there are people that make this feel like it's still worth it. I'm afraid of what would happen if there was less staff, even just one less. The people who make this community worth staying for deserve better than to be abandoned.
For those who think we are out to get you: If we really were, you would be
gone.
Whether people like me, hate me, appreciate me, or want to badmouth me, I'm going to stay and do my job. As long as there is even one person I can help, one person that appreciates what the staff members do, then I'm going to stay.

Wow.
Well first of all, grats Ashi, I didnt get to say that in the other thread. I hope you dont go insane, considering the drama this has all started after just a day.
This entire drama storm is going to give me an aneurysm. How hard is it to just take a step back, stop being a bunch of big babies over something that doesn't matter in the slightest, and calm the f**k down? I'm not really active in the community, but unless I missed something that shes done, I dont see a reason to be worried about her identity, she seems like an overall cool person. If she wants to hide her identity, she has every right to. She owes absolutely nothing to any of you, she doesn't need to reveal anything about who she is. Even if she did turn out to be a two headed tentacled monster hell bent on destroying the very fabric of equilibrium in our community, things would eventually be dealt with and we will all move on.
Kbye.
:Edit: I'm probably a little bit late on this, as the conversation seemed to have started to move away from this issue, but it's 12 a.m. and I read like 20 pages of drama, so my mind is in a jumble.
