Is Mabi NA in danger of closing? - Your thoughts?

  A community forum should offer as much freedom to discuss any topic as possible. As long as I'm admin on nation, I'll be sure we adhere to that freedom. Having a discussion about whether the players believe mabinogi is close to its end or not is a perfectly legitimate concern and topic to address, and holds no malicious marketing or political intent behind its continued speculation. Due to the nature of the topic, it will be spoken about at various times. If Nexon refuses to allow those threads to exist, at least I will.
  
  And I have a shit list as well, but its impossible to be human without one. But it really pains me to hear that he acts based on his shit list alone. There are members who give me a very hard time here, and I strongly frown upon their posts, but to use that as a basis to lock their future threads without even reading it is setting a completely biased and unjust standard for what a moderator should and shouldn't do.
  
  Well, that's my opinion anyways. If I were in his position I would probably have little choice but to act similarly, which makes me quite glad I never pursued such a position at Nexon several years ago when I had the chance.

  Ahhh, i see your point now, thanks for that. I mean i have a hard time seeing the gray area in things, as why i would never want to e an admin or moderator in things because i would remove anything i have doubts on, incredibly difficult for me. At least this offers some insight on your end though.

  I understand holding your position and doing a job but adding any name to a shit list and then being bias against them in decisions is never a good thing. I understand disliking the person, but it should never interfere with a job.
  
  Even I had to work and support people I disliked, but I take things from a professional viewpoint and business/personal relationships are two different things.
  
  Aside from that, I think you're underestimating Mabination. It has its difference from the general audience of the Nexon Mabinogi Forums.
  
  For one, I would agree that this thread would not serve well on the Nexon forums. It will either degrade into trolling or mass hysteria, especially since it exists on the official forums, however in nation, the people here handled it well and gave their own insightful reasons on if Mabinogi will close. From talks how it will not close now, to what signs it will close, and of course philosophical that even if it close, we retain all the fun memories and friends there.
  
  It is subtle difference like that that show the maturity level between Mabination and the Nexon Forums (though I will admit, not everything is peachy at all times at Nation, some feathers get ruffled, but overall better than the Nexon Forums).
  
  However, I cannot argue with Morbious' decision because such a topic would be bad on the official forums, however I would hate to be in his position. I sort of share my belief in freedom of speech with Ashikoki and it's much easier to enforce because the audience of Mabination is generally more mature than the Nexon forums.
  
  The community is what makes or breaks a forum anyways~

  NA Mabinogi is still going strong considering it still has online and offline events going on, it still gets it's weekly maintenance, considering we were given free VIP service (which may or may not influence profits), the Gms are still actively attempting to fix the game (last maintenance notes), and considering it has lasted 5 years, going into 6 despite being as glitchy, broken, and an old game engine as it is....(9 years in S.Korea), it would actually come to me as a surprise if they decided to close Mabinogi in the near future.
  
  I see the above as Mabinogi doing well despite current circumstances. Like I said before, there are many variables that can contribute to the closure of an mmorpg, but it is impossible to know them all unless you yourself work for Nexon. Just enjoy Mabinogi while it lasts. If you feel Mabinogi is headed for the axe, then quit now and find yourself a new game to play. Simple as that.
  
  

  I posted a similar thread on nexon forums. Admin locked it very quick. Either they have something to hide or they just don't want people to discuss the possibility of mabi closing.

  If mabi was going to shut down soon, Nexon would most likely try the same Nx promotion they did with DFO: giving out 10k free nx for trying the game out and getting to a certain level.

  It had skeleton keys and avatars, which were both gachas.
  
  Cost $2.50 to spin a random avatar, and then you'd have to combine 5 of them for a rare avatar, and then 5 of those rare avatars to get some super duper avatars... and there are 9 avatar slots... and you'll want to fill it up for all 10 of your alts... oh god.
  
  The really dedicated players dropped thousands of dollars in to the game.
