That's why I said "This is without mana reduction and the time it would take to hit the monster but you see my point." It's more of an idea for a way to conserve mana, than to do damage.
Mana conservation is super duper irrelevant since G14. The only thing that would make it more irrelevant is homestead brownies that picked herbs for you.
And frankly you'd do more damage over time just charging normally than spamming bolts.

I feel like mages wont be content until all there skills do as much damge as that blaze. :/ I feel like they over buffed magic now. It was already doing decent damage before, they just needed to make their reforges better.
And how come everyone is ignoring alchemy? Didn't they finally get their long needed buff? Yet I have yet to see any water cannon or flame bursts or shock or heat buster damage test and junk.

Blaze:
- Can be used with a staff
- Damage increased
Fusion Bolt:
- Can be used with a staff
- Magic Weapon Mastery increases damage (?)
Rain Casting:
- Rain starts to pour much sooner.
Thunder:
- Standby period has been reduced.

You ignore factors such as time, cost, flexibility, reliability.
If anyone knows WWII history (or played world of tanks), the other skillsets are like Sherman tanks or T-34s, stable, reliable and consistent, while magic is like the Tiger - flashy specs and looks awesome on the test grounds but in real combat it's an overengineered mess prone to breakdowns.

Did this stuff actually get implimented? If so staffs are a lot more useful now.

Fuck that. Like, srsly?
As for the alch thing, we've seen the dmg and it's way higher but I do agree, there should be some more testing focused on all that.

My guesses.
1: New Archer skill.
2: A skill that further enhances your bard skills music buff effects.
3: Singing skill kinda like instrument playing but for voices.
4: A singing skill that further increases your music buff if multiple people are singing with you.
5. action that allows people to start a song all together like the one bards have.

True but basically, mana conservation is for lazy or newbie mages.
It's an option, which makes me believe that wands have the most diverse upgrade paths in the game.
[S]Wish they had added mana potions to the healer shops.[/S]

Take away reforges from all the other talents and we cant compete xD.
I felt like they made a step in the right direction with the addition of mobile casting and insta cast, the wands and staffs and all the other damage percs are welcomed. But I think that if they were to make it as practical as melee and range then they better nerf that damage like hell. With magic there should be a trade off between that sort of damage and practicality/difficulty/mobility.

Blaze is overpowered, yeah. But fighter and range is still way better for single target than hail will ever be. And much easier to set up than blaze.
Also remember that the screenshot had matk reforges.

Good thing they didn't do that.
They gave magic some gimmicks to sort of mimic those classes mobility but they're highly overcosted and a lot of it is pure napkinwaffe. The problems with Magic are mechanical in nature in the end.

Sounds like you hate magic. If there's no trade off in other skillsets, why magic?

Options:
1. Crit 9k in HM with Ice Spear.
2. Crit 14k in HM with Fireball.
3. Derank all the above and crit 75k with Blaze.
Decisions, decisions...
