  Someone really hates marathons. And what the hell is up with everyone blaming Korea? If they were going to attack something it wouldn't be a random marathon no one but locals was paying attention to.

  it wasn't just a random marathon
  people from all over the world came to see this marathon
  it's huge, there were over 100,000 people there and was televised all over the world

  They were home made bombs. Not surprised that some didn't go off. Also, filling shrapnel in to small explosives guarantees the most amount of damage. Its like firing off a shotgun in every direction.

  Been keeping up with the story all day. It's one of those things that makes you really wish you could help (other than donating to the Red Cross.)
  
  Some of the images on other sites are awful. Just seeing these people without limbs and with completely blank faces, it's crazy. Pure shock. It bothers me that anyone would even think to do something like this. People are fucking disgusting.

  So far there are 140 people being treated, 3 deaths (one was an 8-year old kid), and they're still trying to investigate. I haven't heard any word on the supposed person of interest they have in custody. Tons of people have lost limbs and a good deal of victims are still in critical condition.

  Indeed. I read on another news site that they said they don't have a specific person of interest yet and are still just questioning people and trying to follow up on any leads that they have.
  
  There's also a lot of speculation amongst the people about who did it and why. There was some "terrorist expert" who's comparing it to 9/11 (saying the two different bombs going off were like the two planes), saying that he thinks that this was just a trial run and that there could be other, bigger bombings coming up.
  
  Honestly, I just hope that they manage to wrap this up ASAP. We don't need people freaking out and pushing the blame onto whatever person(s) they feel is convenient. I'm sure most of the victims would just like all of this to be over, too. They're going to have so much to cope with from their injuries alone as it is.

  And of course, a Saudi Arabian man being questioned is apparently noteworthy, as opposed to the various other people who have been questioned. Hooray for racial profiling.

  The governor of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick, said it was "important to clarify that two, and only two, explosive devices were found yesterday".
  
  There were earlier reports that several unexploded devices had been found across the city.
  
  Mr Patrick said all other suspect parcels had been examined and found not to be bombs.

  Not that it makes it any better but the fact that only 2 bombs were actually found brings a huge sigh of relief. So there was never a bomb underneath the grandstands, or at any other location. So nobody else was really in danger after the two explosive devices went off.
  
  I don't mean to underscore the event or anything, but seeing that there was only 2 devices, I'm going to lean heavily towards this being done by a single person rather than a group of people.
