Questions on barrier spikes:
How does the typical mob AI respond to barrier spikes between you and the mob, if the mob has aggro'd you? Do they attempt to attack you though the spikes if you are close enough behind them, or try to move to you through the spikes if you are further back?
What's the minimum number of spikes you'd need to keep mobs from reaching you if you are/are not in a corner?
Assume that the mobs don't circle like wolves or bandits.

It attacks the barrier spikes instead, you can test this in Provocation by trying to attack your teammate's mobs.
Three, in a triangle formation.

How useful are summoned golems, particularly their windmill? I did a search and saw that their hitbox size (and therefore WM radius) was nerfed, but I don't know by how much.
A screenshot with a circled approximate range would be lovely, if doable.
I'm also interested in how they are controlled with the remote skill activation and attack commands that's available with the guard+normal cylinder AI. Is it similar to ctrl+shift+click like ordering a pet to attack something?

Current golem usefulness... well, their windmill radius is small(r6).
AI mode is useless, wouldn't be something you'd wanna depend on, being honest here.
Telling a golem to attack a targeted mob can prove to be useful at times, use it to stun a monster that was about to hit me while casting rain.

Alright... I was planning on using golems (if at all) as distractions/meat shields/stun lockers, rather than competent partners. They should do alright by the sound of that.
I had hoped to have them be windmill guards over commerce mounts, but I suppose I'll be using puppetry for commerce eventually anyway. Thanks!

One thing you could do is shock the golem and it's take aggro, though for commerce, I'd recommend ranking/mastering hydra.

Havin looked at the wiki hydra does look excellent for commerce... it's a better mirage misile mine of sorts. The only thing I don't understand is how the number of hits is calculated.
How doable is it to use sand burst and magnum, smash, etc in a revolver type combo? The auto hit, instant load, and low cooldown seems like it would make 1v1 combos quite easy.
If you use sand burst on a bandit during an ambush, do you pick up aggro from another bandit? I mainly ask because it seems like it would be geeat for getting bandit bosses off your back.

The other bandit will aggro after the current blind enemy is un'blinded.

Blues are a cheaper alternative.

I'm going to make my giant an alchemy/melee hybrid. I'm guessing the first skills I should rank would be
Water Cannon
Chain Cylinder
Guard Cylinder Mastery
In about that order. I'm interested in both hydra and flame burst after that, but I'm not sure which skills I should rank after the above 3 (if those should be around the first three I rank.) Any suggestions?

Sandburst, Windblast, Song(r5) and Lullaby(whichever rank you feel is the best).
