actually no, all that widespread banning just means you should of did it on an alt account.
so no, they should of just fixed or gotten rid of their event. it would of solved everything instead of getting the entire playerbase talking all about this drama/crap lol.

They should have removed the event permanently as it was both broken and awful.
Players who amassed an obviously abusive number of gems should be permanently banned. I'm talking about anyone who picked up like 1~2k+ gems. While simply removing gems from inventories would be fantastic, there's no way Nexon will put that much effort into anything.

again, does nothing but tell people to do it on alt accounts if they wanted to.
also does nothing to people who bought diamonds at dirt cheap prices, if people's problem with the event was people actually actively feeding their egos instead of afkbotting it next to a shop.
the bannings are dumb, plain and simple. in a case like this, banning effectively does nothing but agitate ppl.

Doing it on alt. account is still wrong, and not to mention... Nexon can read your IP address and track down your accounts that uses the same IP.
Sometime I feel like Nexon should start doing MAC address ban.

I suppose i'm really just mad at developers/publishers in general for being so fucking incompetent and lazy.
I don't expect everyone to approach game balance and content in the same way
Bioware approach the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer but for fucks sake anything is better than what we've set as the current status quo.

Mabi would be so much better if the developers didn't have their stupid fucking honor system for content.
"SHAME ON YER FAMIRY FOR UPDATING MY WORK"
That's why we don't have nice things, that's why content is built like a lemming staircase, that's why we have the same shitty glitchy pleione engine.

Changing your IP address is super simple.
Change the address, spam event on alt account making sure not to use main so it doesn't get associated with that IP.
When spammed enough to your liking exit alt account, change IP again, proceed to play on main with no punishments.
In the end the bans are meaningless. All they have done is draw more attention to the glitch, and I guarantee there are now far more people aware of and abusing it than there were before, because I know if I was banned the first thing I would do is log on on an alt account and tell as many people how to do it as possible just to piss Nexon off. The event is still up and still abusable, and they have made no official announcements or statements about the event, the bans, or the abuse. They aren't removing the items gotten by the abuse either according to Sabina, so the only thing any of this is accomplishing is "black marking" people that may possibly do bad things in the future. And I'm not even sure about that given that Nexon is lazy as fuck(Reinforced by the fact that Hanna has been banned before and still got the same punishment as the first timers, and ╔╦╗╒╕║╒╕winning forum events after multiple bans despite them saying that bans make you ineligible to win the contests)

oh that'd make people even more mad, if they were to actively pursue.
when you look all the other things that get exploited, this is so tame in comparison. actively ip banning people for this while having ignored every other issue with this game would just look idiotic on their part.
morally wrong, i can't really argue tho. (well i could but that'd just go nowhere)

This whole affair's just incredibly stupid, but both Nexon and those who exploited (knowingly) and continue to exploit are to blame. xD
They really need to fix the event if they're going to keep it up.

This thread is like people are saying it's the police's fault for killing drug dealers.

That's not an accurate comparison at all. Nexon released a broken event which they were notified on day 1 was broken and rather than doing ANYTHING about it chose to ignore it and instead ban all the people who did it.
To make it similar to your analogy, it's like if the police invented a new drug and then released it to the public, and a drug dealer said "Hey cops, that stuff's killing people. You should do something about that." And the police just shrugged and let people keep dying for a week THEN started arresting the drug dealers that were selling the drug they invented without any warning that the drug was even illegal.

So you're telling me that (those who were banned for exploiting the event) did not realize that exploitation is a ban-able offense? What I was trying to say was
those who truly were exploiting the event shouldn't be bashing Nexon or saying it's their fault for letting the event run. It's your goddamned faults for running the loophole of the event and raking in the prizes through a method that was not intended by the creators.

Long story short, if you exploited you can't blame Nexon for anything.

I'm not blaming nexon for anything but unless they fix the bug during a maint soon this is by far the most unprofessional and childish way I've seen something like this dealt with, hands down.
