Do you think weed should be legal? Why or why not?
I'm going to be honest I used to think it shouldn't be legal before I actually tried it. Weed is my best friend now, I love it and think everyone should try it at least once. It makes everything so much more fun and entertaining, it makes the shittiest food taste like you've got it from a gourmet chef. I'm not the most outgoing person but pack a bowl for me and I become everyone's best friend.
It has so many benefits for people who have medical issues, and even in recreational use it's amazing. It causes no long term effects on the body or brain, and if you want to get fucked up (responsibly, no driving or babysitting) I think it's the best way to do it.
Since I've moved away from California I haven't smoked much because I had a medical cannabis card and don't want to risk getting sent to jail but it could be legalized for medical reasons in November and I'm pretty excited about it.
There's nothing like coming home from a hard day and smoking a bowl with some friends or turning on Comedy Central. Weed improves my will to live ten fold

Even though I don't have strong feelings one way or the other, if I had to pick, I'd pick to legalize it. I think the reasons against are minimal, if not completely manufactured. There stands much to gain and very little to lose.

I've never smoked it and have no intention to try it but I don't understand how cigarettes are legal while weed can land you in jail. Joints don't have all kinds of toxic crap added to it.
Apart from that huge logic health fail, legalizing it would just mean more money for the government and less street crime related to it, and less crowded prisons for people caught with it. Less spending to try and stop it...
As far as I'm concerned it should be viewed the same as alcohol (and not as smoking), since it will affect your ability to work and I don't want high coworkers in the same way I don't want drunk coworkers, drunk drivers and so on.

Keep it away from bus stops, I hate getting on raunchy smelling buses with some addict sitting at the back shit-talking everyone while hopped up on weed.
Keep away from areas with kids, young children who smoke weed tend to fail school pretty early in life.
Also keep it away from public areas like starbucks, because drinking your frappicinno isn't all that great when some asshole is smoking a blunt 2 feet away.

I really hate when people smoke in public holy shit
They're just asking for me to snatch it out of their hands and stomp it on the ground

As long as people keep using it as is; the majority of weed smokers smoking privately(at least the ones I've experienced), then it's fine with me. As long as it doesn't extend to public institutions or places where the general populace run around. There does need to be some anti-odor product if weed was legalized to control the smell; it makes a house smell... nauseating and unwelcoming. Mixing Febreeze with weed doesn't smell all that nice either, as experienced in my dorm with my room-mate.

Please come wait for the bus with me. so many people smoke at the bus line up it's disgusting but no one can do anything about it because the "bus stop" is officially just a tiny area where the sign for the bus is, while the lineup is way longer.

I'm okay if people smoke in their own house but not okay when it comes to public areas.

Where i live near the corner of the highschool AND police station they'd always just smoke it up there and never get caught? i dont really understand but it honesty doesn't bother me i could care less if it was legal or not, maybe people wouldn't go around showing it off "Look im doing illegal things that should be legal!!"

I don't know very much about it, but I'd rather have alcohol prohibited than marijuana, evne though I like a good beer.

I always thought it should only be legal for medicinal purposes. But then -
The pro-legalization people always said "Once its legal most people will stop doing it because the risk and taboo is gone." Two states made it legal, what happened? Everyone's fucking doing it, hundreds of weed businesses have popped up, you can't go five minutes without hearing something about weed. Making it legal hasn't shut people up at all, I -NEVER- heard about it as much as I have since they legalized it, and I heard about it daily even before that.
So at this point I don't care whether they legalize it or not as long as they make it illegal to talk about it.

People only want it legalized so they can get stoned whenever they want, disregarding any medical purposes. They want it to be some smokable alchohol alternative for abuse.

As long as i don't know about it and i don't see it at work or public places and as long as i don't have to work with high people. Sure. Go for it.

Stereotypes be damned. A german said this? That's like saying outlaw kilts in scotland. You have beer steins!
Then again, you did say you like a good beer. Must be your rational side conflicting with your german side.

Yeah, being high in public should still be illegal even if pot itself gets legalized. If you leave your home before it wears off, into the jail you will go.

Actually beer consumption in Germany is dropping drastically.
