National Coming Out Day

  today is national coming out day.
  you may use this thread if you wish, to tell the forum if you are a person of the LGBTQA community.
  please don't start arguments here and please don't make joke posts.

  i shall be the first.
  
  i am pansexual (or also omnisexual). that means i can have sexual attraction or desire, romantic love, or emotional attraction to people of any sex or gender identity. i reject the gender binary or the notion that there are 2 genders and specific orientations. i do not believe that there are only a specific amount of sexual orientations. i am open to relationships with people who do not conform to man or woman.
  
  now, that doesn't mean anything is going to change with me. other than me feeling a whole lot better to not have all of this bottled up anymore. please don't treat me any different now than before. i'm really the same person, ya know!

  Well unfortunately while there are many like you two who agree that everyone should be equal, there are many that don't and intimidate those who have yet to come out. So I believe these kind of days exist to try to encourage people who feel intimidated.

  There are people that want to be proud of being white and/or straight but can't express themselves the mere thought of everyone being equal intimidates others.
  If they did express themselves they will be labeled as racists and homophobes from others.

  I work with people who believe gays and such shouldn't get married because of religious purposes (marriage is between a man and woman, and they are NOT the minority)

  My point was that these people are why it's not as accepted as night and day, and why there exists an urge to "come out".
  
  [spoiler=so like, i wrote out this post because i thought i was questioned for something else, and i feel like it's an important read and something i wanted to get off my chest]
  Let me start by saying that after constant thinking and editing, that there is no proper way for me to explain it without possibly offending someone, but I will try.
  And keep in mind I try to keep my "radical" views to myself, as I do not enjoy the attention.
  I predict in 50 or so years, this will not be an issue, it will be viewed as "I am straight!" And whatever, like when Ellen DeGeneres came out and told everyone she was a lesbian, i was a child at the time, and my first thought was "so? What does it matter?" I do not get society's disposition towards the "queer" people, they are people, human, just wired differently, trying to figure themselves out. As i grew older, i extended this disposition towards all nationalities and races, and now everyone is quite literally equal in my eyes.
  
  Don't get me wrong, I am not downplaying or anything of the sort, I live to question the logic of others when it makes no sense to me.
  Personally, I am very happy you found some peace with you, it's a great liberating feeling!
