Did you guys enjoy the story? Was the combat fun and engaging? Did you run into problems? Any characters you hate? Any characters that you love?
I had a lot of fun with the battles. Girgashiy was definitely a lot easier on my end game character and didn't dip into my pot supply too much. Think I ended up using like 30 hp 500 SE's in the final. My only death was cause my game decided to freeze for 1-2 minutes and came back to being dead :/ Rest of the battle went smoothly.
I was surprised to see that judgement blade chipped away 40-50% of Girgashiy's health in final. Tried that in KR and it didn't really do anything so unsure if that was a bug and they fixed it or it was added in later.
When I was fighting the 3 Prophets Brullien caught me off guard with her chain casted Thunder that I underestimated and that got me killed.
Still though, 2 deaths not too bad. One I couldn't do anything about, the other was carelessness and cockiness.
Either way, it was pretty enjoyable. What do you guys think?
I found the story to be... Very fun and enjoyable honestly. Having to wait for quests, deliver items, and actually talk to people I've somewhat talked to in the past of my mabi life in a similar fashion to the old days, really hit home for me. I found myself reading just about everything the characters had to say and caring about it for some reason. I'm not sure why honestly, other than what I've already stated.
The skills are neat, and I like them so far. I haven't gotten to use them much, and the shield of trust...is lying, at least to me, about letting you ignore knock-back from attacks. It's also god awful that you can't get off rank novice till after the end (at least I think what I'm stuck on is the end) because it's main draw is the reduction of that one skills dmg, but rank N has a 0% reduction! However they do this because if you had a 40sec cooldown instead... I don't think you'd last long.
The trio you have to go up against are...interesting. As a friend of mine HAD to do one mission for me, as it crashed my game on the first attempt and 'locked' me out till he logged in on me, I missed some dialog that might have explained a few things, or not. Don't know. Back to why they're interesting, because these 3 (well 2 of them) seem to know three of the nights, maybe personally. As for how they look... Wing girl is eh, Ogre is "Dude what the hell happened to you?" and 'wolfie' is...honestly the fun one of the three imo. He looks cool imo compared to the other two, and my first fight with him was fun and had me screaming into my mic at a friend, "WHY DID YOU AGRO, WHY ARE YOU HERE, LET ME CATCH MY BR-OHGODITHURTS!" as he smashed the shit out of me. XD My magic was useless on him and I needed to trans and pull out my crappy sword, then I proceed to have and adv/normal melee heavy ping fight with him till I put him in his place! >:p
In the end, and even now, I find myself crying for HP pots...I went in with none and bit the dust for the first time when the boss had that DoT poison. Later I got tossed into a wall two times in a row and could do nothing about it. Then I failed to save the queen SEVERAL FUCKING TIMES, good fucking lord I hated that. And now in the final my game 100% FROZE after my 2nd sword hit, and I ran away. (I'm so fucking pot poisoned right now.....) Tomorrow my friend will complete the final for me on a less lagy comp and connection...XD;
I'm looking forward to more of this story, and I can't wait to try out the raids!-...with small parties due to my awful comp.
It was okay, I can't wait for the second part.

I'm pretty happy that they made the quests revisit a ton of places. Running around from place to place for quests sure gave me some newbie life questing nostalgia. I remember the old days where I would literally use up all the time on my pets to finish generations, haha. Not so much anymore!
Battles were actually somewhat challenging, which I liked a lot. I think I had potion poisoning twice or something... Haven't chugged pots that fast for the longest time. One of my deaths was due to carelessness and the other was due to getting struck by Thunder after I lagged.
I also have really enjoyed the flashy new skills and new raid so far. The need for teamwork and organization mixed with the level of engagement required is pretty fun.
Overall, it was pretty fun, aside from the Alexina server crash rollback that ruined my day for a few hours when I realized I lost some gear.

My thoughts on what little I've played of the mainstream:
It's about time my character got some fucking respect from someone. Jesus.

I liked seeing Eirawen in the story again.
She's a sweet character.
But geeez, that one mission where you had to keep at least one soldier alive while they got mauled by bears...
What a pain!
Ended up just summoning an EW'd golem and having it use taunt for 5 minutes.

Ya for that bear mission I ended up switching to using a healing wand, probably should have tossed in my trinity outfit I never wear too. But ya, really fun generation I have to say.

My favorite part of G19 has to be the Protect Eirawen mission, Sandburst and Barrier spikes really do an excellent job there.

Haven't finished it yet but I'm stuck on the part where you have to talk to Tir Chonaill residents to calm them down. I talked to a few and there was no option or anything. No quest markers either.

Try Nora.

Yeah for those you have to talk to...
Like, Nora. (tir)
Then another time it's Brenda. (taill)
Then there's Nerys (dunbarton)
Then ANOTHER time, it's Hamelin (bard camp)
It was kind of annoying how there weren't any quest markers, and how only one NPC says anything different.

I like the story, and the dungeons (rather, Shadow Missions) were mostly pretty interesting. I like there are no RPs this time.
However, if you ask me if I want to play it again... Nope.

Enjoyed the trip down memory lane, they pulled the nostalgia strings pretty well. So many NPC's/locations that haven't been relevant in years (Been fucking years since the last time I had talked to Corentin) played a small role. I got teary eyes during the Cave sequence,
Elatha's
pass broke me, not gonna lie. Then they go and play Glas' theme during the final mission (Which was hype as fuck) and made me smile.
The new characters were okay I guess, the writing wasn't Saga II tier thankfully. Special mention goes to Eirawen, I honestly didn't jump on the Eirawen love train like everyone else did during G16, but hot damn, she was great during that last cutscene. The little queen has stones.
Final boss was disappointing, the thought of 2 of those things filled me with terror, but they went down pretty easily and fast. Protecting Eirawen was more annoying.

Yeah, it was an enjoyable experience but something that was made to be enjoyed just once. Not sure I have the patience to wait again between quests.

that protecting the soldiers quest is really difficult.
My healing isn't that great nor is my barrier spikes. I can't lullaby because they soldiers just knock them out of it and I can't protect stupidity ://
It's really annoying..

"Why did he make the choices he made in life?"
Good question, game! We don't even know the context of his choices, so we can hardly even speculate. Thanks for making us ask more answerless question. All we really knew about him is that he wasn't racist, because he hated everybody equally. That, and he was depressed as shit. I wouldn't be surprised if suicide was on his mind at some point.
Also, if you're having trouble with the soldier mission, spawn a mount before the mission starts, then hop on and high-tail towards the gate ASAP. Wait it out 5 minutes, and assuming you're not lagging too bad, the mobs and NPC's shouldn't have aggroed too much.
