As of now, I'm still not exactly happy with these renovation changes.
Close combat did not get faster and they did not remove i-frames.
Magic got marginally faster and is still overall unsatisfactory. In fact they added to the AP bloat of the magic tab even more.
I don't particular see much hope for the range renovation. Maybe a new AOE skill and some new celtic weapons that don't even come close to bhafel+huntress. Call me a pessimist but these changes did nothing but power creep the renovated tabs. They did nothing to actually fix their core problems. Not to mention FH wasn't nerfed for live release, how did that slip though?

Osay, not ranking a skill is just ludicrous. This is an Massively Multiplier Online Role Playing Game. Many players play games like this for the sense of character progression and empowerment. Telling players to not rank a skill because they think it's overpowered is basically telling them not to take a job promotion even if they don't like the new position.
Many players encourage power creep and don't look at overall game balance. And to be honest devkitty is doing nothing for game balance with these updates. Final hit is another balance breaker and people will still use lances aside from that skill. Magic is still slow and will be used by a niche group of players. Overall these updates have not changed the balance of the game.
I bet they wont adjust archery base percents to make early game archery more viable. As it stands archery's biggest problems is the fact that without the correct reforges you just aren't able to output as much as other skill sets. I've said it before in places but base archery percents need to go up and percents on the reforges need to go down. This way current reforged archers are just as strong but the skills themselves are a bigger contribution to the damage.
