Archery has tons of issues.
- Elves have latency issues with light ranged skills
- Heavily reforge reliant
- Accuracy system
-- Adds up to 8 seconds to each skill's execution

- Skills are divided between races, reduced versatility
- Comparatively low multipliers
The biggest problem with archery is that everything else is way too fucking fast and strong. Crash Shot isn't all that impressive now that we have AOE skills which deal anywhere from 400~1100% damage, with full accuracy and comparable cooldowns. Magnum Shot's DPS, while still the potential highest in Mabinogi, drops significantly against elemental-immune targets and accuracy issues hold it back.
The joke of an archery renovation changed pretty much nothing. Final Shot and Mirage Missile are functionally the same as they were before. Magic Missile's cooldown wasn't reduced. The majority of archery skills and mechanics are exactly the same.
The only noticeable changes were to Support Shot (making it easier to use) and crossbows (allowing the player to run w/all ranged skills). Honestly, I was a big fan crossbow's mobility restriction for heavy ranged skills. It added a bit of nuance to the weapon. The only influence that this will have on the community will be the rush of new crossbow users who want a cheap alternative to the Bhafel combo. Unfortunately, these people will overlook that even with a weapon of that caliber, the talent still sucks.
