If the client fully handled what could be dyed then we'd be able to abuse that and dye what we pleased.
Yeah, just because the client has it doesn't mean it's used. The client and server each have the same copies of things like the item database and all that jazz, but which parts are used by which side is almost arbitrary at times.
For example editing the palettes client-side does not change the colors that clothes show up with in the shops or anything, nor does it affect the dye minigame (
despite appearances the minigame gives the intended results because the server does it too and then chooses the result it got over yours).

Not sure if you'd be able to find anything, but is there anything about egos
Level up tables and stuff for old ones, but there's not much that's not known other than... well, stat tables for the egos nobody makes. Hell, I've got an Elven Long Bow ego on NA and I had to go fill in the repair chart on the wiki myself as I proffed/damaged 'cause everybody goers for other bows instead. But it'd be annoying to make proper tables from the data, and the wiki reverts tables I put up on there when they come from
this sort of thing so I really CBA.
I mean there's like, feed data and growth rates from gems, but people already figured that stuff out (one way or another) and put calculators up years ago. The stats from feeding and such actually depend on the item's ID.
Also the ego creation process is tied to specific weapon IDs, so there's no normal way to make an ego out of a random specific weapon that you normally can't. Wouldn't have proper stats anyways.

or the odds of , idk, getting an arbalest from the lampposts in Cobh?
Sometimes I punch those things for nails for the daily for that NPC there. Never seen one. Going rafting twice to get an Arbalest as reward would take much less time and effort.
