  You know I think it might not actually be from fishing there, I've had one or two other people I know fish for it in NA and never get it... whereas the leak and other info does actually point to the item coming out of the underground chests and such.

  This is interesting. This popped up in Mabimessage a bit ago, I had caught msgs like this before and wondered how the hell they came onto my client. Apparently the NPCs are just invisible, but the msgs still transmit into the client. Just an interesting thing, though, wondering if this may lead into any other insights.

  You should be able to packet log yourself dropping it and picking it back up, the "new item" or whatever packet should have a big string of hex as one of the last arguments, that'd be the MML, g-zipped IIRC.

  This has been known since about G15. When they added "moving" npcs, they really just added multiple (distinct) NPCS, along with a filter system. The server can tell the client to only display certain entities when you're on a specific quest, for example. The rest of the time, the entities are invisible. However, everything about them is still sent. The entity data, stat updates, position updates, chat (which you saw) etcetc.
  
  The client must go through the work of maintaining these entities, but you don't ever see them.
  
  Compare this to "early" NPCs, like Fleta, or Bearlach, who physically warped to another region when they shouldn't be seen.

  You can, though not easily. The easiest thing to do would be to read the scroll's metadata with a packet logger or Ry's tool, and then run the text through an unzipper. Ry or I could potentially make one, but that gets into questions of protecting people's scrolls.

  I could have told you that myself but attempting to look for it or perhaps any subsequent ones in the NA package data gave me back nil.

  Itemdb entries 54617-54620 are the packs 1-4, so that's item ID 92982-92985. It's a gacha, and I have no idea about it other than it being related to the newly-translated/added "US Welcome Back" event/data stuff that got added for a thing or something.

  What exactly causes one to stop after Ice Spear or Thunder (I think also Fireball) Explodes/hits? If I recall, every time I would ice spear, upon a frozen mob taking dmg from the spell, I would get desynced as I assume the server stopped me where I was standing, while the client allowed me to continue to move. The same goes for thunder striking down, and 60% sure I remember fireball exploding doing this as well.
