I'm one of the few that actually use a severely reforged vivace that I know of in mari, if not NA. I also have mana reduction enable, no HEM because its garbage, and not only a triple book but an Arcane/Professor's Targe that I mainly abuse MS with. I run out of mana from primarily
firebolt spam and use of
mana shield. I have not touched my staff in ages(which its now a druid so the mp usage is even
less), not to mention I have not decided to go out running an entire sm/dungeon with just magic and not firebolt in a while, but running AAHM with fireball/LR took almost no mana at all with inspiration, and that was running it at top speed using the two skills, along with a slightly reforged vivace(I had PI10+Viv3 acc, and hadn't been using vivace master, so my vivace was around lower 20s.). Do note that vivace/cast speed bonuses are still broke for Intermediate magic, resulting in speed anomalies. I don't have cast speed reforge on my staff but it matches the speed I have on my wand which
is CS20, under 38% vivace casts a 5 charge fireball in virtually the same time. The only difference is that my staff takes nothing and I could have spellwalk on and still use barely 40 mp. Fireball with 38% vivace with my staff and mana reduction is 4mp/charge. If I actually reforged, enchanted, and made it worthwhile, I'd never run out of MP with that staff and I'd casually run alban with fireball spam. I'm still working on my physical equipment and since I have my annihilation stick I don't prioritize it that much.
That being said, this garbage with how inspiration is somehow breaking magic is absolute horseshit. Magic's main issue when you're going hard has ALWAYS been the fact that without MS you're a glass canon, and with MS you're a druggie. Anybody who doesn't have dodge charms or fast enough reflexes to make sure that their ass is covered with lullaby or pets is going to have a very hard time. And it takes a MASSIVE fucking mana pool to make inspiration even the slightest useful. I have normally 1.1k mp without a +368 mp book, and I have dained against using arcane anywhere else on my equipment in favor of damage. I was using fantastic chorus and meditation, non enduring because vivace is fundamentally stronger with all magic, and BFO is stronger with firebolt/IS/TH, and I was still draining my MP with even fireball spam. This is BEFORE making my vivace double of what is normally standard, enabling mana reduction at all times, and improving my damage from around 700 int to the 1200~1300 of nearly capped, and instead of a weak ego wand a step 6 staff. If I walked into alban right now, hard mode, I'd have very little issues because I'm
geared for it. Anybody who's not geared for heavy magic isn't going to have a swell time with their MP because their MP-damage ratio sucks in comparison. Having a 40%+ BFO does not improve your mp-damage ratio that well aside from firebolt. Generally, even a 20% vivace without cast speed anomalies will improve it, as the main heavy end dungeon clearer is
fireball, WHICH, has one of the most garbage improvements from BFO of all spells, due to the
lack of a sufficient multiplier. Firebolt primarily and thunder are the only two spells where you'll probably find a better improvement from BFO than Vivace unless your vivace is reforged. If your vivace is reforged, and I don't mean PI I mean Vivace Magic Speed 3 on accs/shoes, then BFO for all but the most severely decked out in str/max damage gear.

Im not going to go through the trouble of enchanting/reforging a trinity set just for the mp usage reduction when i can simply use mp pots if im low on mana. Not to mention I choose an RKA specifically because its a good heavy armor and using trinity would make that pointless.
RKA is nice for when you don't care to enchant or go hard on your EQ. I don't end up using mine much anymore due to the fact that a targe or simply MS with a good Matk is, and that with vivace I'm set to use an exceedingly lower amount of MP. Any other circumstance I'd default to RKA/Targe and conserve MP, which is what I did when I had no pots to backup on, or inspiration. If they ever fix the fact that Transmutation talent is
still fucking broke I'll not need my karis anymore after fixing one of my accs to 3 mana reduction instead of two.
A good example here is soloing red dragon. My time is normally 10~13 minutes, which is absolute garbage, and generally because he loves to fly in the air. I generally use maybe 10 mp 500s. This is generally because I get hit by charge or I'm tanking the meteors/tail swipes because I'm A:Stupid and B:Too slow to blaze dodge. If I didn't have SEs/REs, I'd be potion poisoned to death every single dragon. Meaning I have to stay using magic, never use HP pots, or hybridize with ranged in order to actually function on magic immune/resistant monsters.
But my time is stupid slow at RD.

TL;DR: If you're running out of MP and you're not using Firebolt spam or Mana shield, that's perfectly fine if you're not geared for it. If you are and you're running out something is wrong.
