Is this seriously not clear enough?
The word "lies" as used means "has sex".
Therefore, no sex = no detest.
Also, a lot of old testament writings don't apply to modern times. It could be argued that, like many of the Judaic laws, prohibiting homosexual sex was meant to protect against health problems for which no medical understanding of existed, in other words, to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted disease.

Alternatively, you can be super weird like I am, and believe the Bible says that you should not rip a new hole in a man and use that as a vagina.

^ Of all the kinds of sin to complain about, shouldn't people be more concerned with capturing rapists or murderers? Being gay seems a small ordeal.

Apparently not

So are you supposed to hate the act of homosexual sex, but not the person who is homosexual?
Yep. Technically we should hate no one, just their actions.

The very definition of Homosexual implies that it involves sex.
homosexual: someone who practices homosexuality; having a sexual attraction to persons of the same sex
Quote from EndlessDreams;199055:
I guess people can pick and choose which part of the bible is considered to be the "Word of God".
I choose to believe that "Thou shalt not kill" is not part of the "Word of God". I can go around starting holocausts and I'd still be a Chrsitian. Right?
To believe in a religion means that you believe in every aspect of it, not just bits and pieces. DIY Religions do not work.

I suppose this could be true...

Which all goes back to what I said from the beginning

Basically, homosexual acts are considered sins but not being homosexual itself. Similar to how many sexual acts are considered sins, but not being sexual itself.
People, many christians included, seem to think that being gay is some horrible sin. In fact, all sins are considered equal and we have all sinned...so the high and might act is just so much nonsense. There is nothing stopping a homosexual from being christian, just like your average, everyday joe who is, you know, human.

Yeah but if your accepting homosexuality like this Bishop is then your accepting the sexual act. Which is the big debate on the 1st and 2nd page

I watched the whole thing, didn't see that part. Mind pointing it out so I know what you're talking about?
Oh, and his message was aimed at telling people that god doesn't hate them no matter what they do. It follows the christians shouldn't hate them either. Is that what you're referring to?

Yeah. "You Are a Beloved Child of God" (1:29 in the vid) It's him telling the world that he's ok with homosexuality as a Christian, and that God accepts us for who we are since he created us.

I think you extrapolated quite a bit there, but in essence, that's exactly what I just said.
It should not be confused with saying god thinks we're all perfect people so much as that he loves and accepts imperfect people.

You realize the whole It Gets Better project is a pro-gay movement?

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's aim is to stop gays from committing suicide?
Admittedly, I don't have much background on this person in particular, but I'm telling you what the biblical standpoint on it is. As far as I can see, this guy isn't straying from it.
