  But rest assured that curbing suicide rates among anyone is a just cause for a christian, no matter who they are. I don't have to agree with everything a person does to not want them to kill themselves. I don't mind wearing a pro-gay tag if that's what it takes, I've been pretty clear where I stand on all of it.

  I applaud this bishop! Not only has he gone against ages and ages of Christianity hating gays, but he's brave enough to step out and say it as well, knowing full well people could hate him or say he's fake or try to kick him from his position.
  
  Not only Christians hate gays though. But this is a good start to stop all this unnecessary discrimination.

  I mean, there's nothing wrong with being gay. But, I'm getting a little tired of seeing them to be honest... Each one is just some random ass person saying "it's okay to be gay."
  
  I don't know if you've just recently come out and you're looking for acceptance or what, but it's this kinda stuff that annoys people. It's kinda like this: Most people really don't care if you're gay or not. Hell, they don't care if you're banging your brother/sister/mommy/daddy. As long as you don't try to involve them in it or shove it down their throats (not literally, although I'm sure they might mind that LOL), they're fine with it.
  
  Basically my point is this: If something actually major or debate-worthy happens, then tell us. Otherwise, nobody really cares and it seems to me like you just want attention for being gay. Which, in itself, casts you (and your sexuality) in a bad light. It's kinda like when people call the race card over any little thing.
  
  Anyways, if you really want to crusade for something, maybe you should crusade for incest. It's illegal in just about every state, illegal in just about every country and is extremely looked down on in just about every society on the planet. It's basically the same thing... people want to love someone society tells them they shouldn't and people judge them for it. But, it's a lot worse off than homosexuality right now, that's for sure.

  It's hard to tell, but the majority of christians are with him on this. That is, of course, not counting the people who put christian down on surveys but have no idea what it's about. It's just that the loud and obnoxious minority gets a lot more attention.
  
  It's a pretty frustrating problem, actually, one I think the church needs to take a more proactive role in remedying. This video is a great step towards doing so.

  You make an Evie ass or boob thread/post every few days. Should I be annoyed at that too? Besides I thought this was important since a Bishop made a video. And in a big debate a while back people were using religion as their reason as to why they do not like homosexuality.

  I'm not religious, but if I was a devout Christian then I'm afraid I'd have to believe homosexuality is a sin. It's clearly defined as a detestable sin in the Bible. People becoming more open, even Bishops, isn't going to change that as long as extremist religious sects can cling to that.

  As you can see... it's pretty clear. As long as the religion is around and people actually believe it and care about it, there are going to be people who believe it to be wrong.
  
  Of course, the Christian way would be to still love you and pray for you, regardless of your grave sin.
  
  Me personally, I think we need to do away with religions entirely. But, it's probably not going away as long as it's still around. Changing the Bible after all, is admitting that it was wrong and if one thing was wrong then the entire thing is wrong.
  
  Anyways, I still see this as being insecure with your sexuality and wanting coddled. You shouldn't really care what a few crazies think. Most people don't care. Even most Christians don't prescribe to the majority of the doctrine they claim to prescribe to be because it would be inconvenient.
  
  The problem in itself isn't that Christianity should accept homosexuality, because it's obviously a sin there already, which was clearly defined by, ahem... "THE LORD GOD HIMSELF" as they would say. The problem is that religion is still around in the first place.
  
  We don't need some soft Bishop. We need a huge anti-religion movement. It'd solve so many problems... As long as laws are still in place, the biggest of the drawbacks are already taken care of. And it'd stop a lot of wars and fighting... The whole "War On Terror" for instance...

  Pay attention to that last line. All the law and the prophets. All the things that make the religion what it is, hang on these two rules. Love God. Love your Neighbor. If it doesn't hang from one or the other, then it isn't going to endanger your immortal soul.

  The Bible is the word of God, but written by many different men of different times.
  
  There will be contradictions here and there. This is also why there are so many different branches of Christianity, and its also why people can have completely different beliefs despite believing the same God.
  
  Putting Gay aside, people need to understand that there is no definitive "right" or "wrong" in a belief. Its why debates and arguments exists. Its not wrong to believe you are right, but its good to know that others have just as much faith in their belief as you have in yours.

  Applies to basically everyone, actually. It's in Romans, "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." Of the verses you quoted earlier, only two were from the new testament. Looking at those in context it's clear to see that homosexuality, while a sin, is not being outlined as the motherload of all sinfulness. Put two and two together and you come to the realization that no one has any right to single out a homosexual as being below them or worse than them or anything of the sort.
  
  Add in the verses quoted in the video and it follows that God doesn't hate homosexuals, which as Kitaek said, was the whole point of the video.
  
  Saying the bible condemns it as a sin seems to be a huge deal for some reason...it's not like we aren't all sinners. I don't want to downplay sin by any means, just make sure people realize there's no one being singled out here.
