Seriously.
In game I constantly hear people talking about how when Karok comes to NA they're instantly going to switch to him.
Whenever I ask them why they are going to do that, they reference the promotional video and give the following reasons:
"He can freaking block and counter boss attacks!"
That doesn't mean he can just stand by and reflect every boss move.
In a game play video it looked like Karok can only block the Gnoll chieftains horizontal swing while standing right in front of the chief.
I don't understand why people think DevCat would actually design a character that overpowered.
"He's so strong!"
He's big and muscular but Evie is able to do really high damage with a scythe despite being half as small.
And people who can't dodge and end up dying aren't going to be doing much damage anyways ("A dead spear Lann has zero DPS")
But then-
"If he can't block that attack then he can just run away."
Is the response when I say Karok can't block all boss moves.
Of course the problem is even in the trailer, Karok looks slow (we see him getting hit by arrows and Gnolls) and we haven't even seen any roll or side step.
Half the time people ignore this but the other people say-
"He doesn't even need to dodge, he can just take all the damage."
Why the hell would someone even want to play a character like this?
Fiona has plate armor, a shield, and defensive skills.
All we've seen Karok do is bash stuff while topless, I know he's probably going to have high base defense but I don't see him surpassing armored Lann/Fiona.
Maybe it's just the Nexon community with people who say Kai is going to be overpowered when there hasn't been half a trailer on the guy.

Half the people on NA judge based on 2 minutes of video rather than look stuff up. Hence, flood of people looking for help here, people having no knowledge about Karok, not seeing how amazing some skills are right now, etc.

The promotional video did its job very very well, which was basically hype the **** out of Karok so that everyone will want to try him or want to play Vindictus because of him. How he plays, his pros, and his cons are all of course a mystery until people get him to near max lvl with lots of ap and thoroughly test him on every boss. Only time will tell...

Friend said that Karok had no dodge abilities.
And the boss-blocking stuff has the potential to be as hard as a perfect guard from Fiona, or harder. His attacks also didn't look too strong.
And seriously, yes. Of course they won't be showing his weaknesses in a promotional. Not to mention that he looks too ugly to play. And normally I wouldn't give a **** about appearance.

Seriously. Never seen Karok dodge. Have fun dealing with hardcore (Ep7-type) bosses.
Unless someone can confirm that he can.

Who needs to dodge bosses when you can GRAB?!
Just kidding, I heard grabbing takes a lot of stamina.

It's always the hype.
pretty much the same when evie came out..
Being a game with only a few character to choose from.. a new character is always exciting for some since it brings more variety to the game.

Leaving him completely defenseless would definitely mean he would get completely raped by just about every boss after the first few boats. I'm sure they made sure he had some sort of evasive or defensive option.
Also, perfect guard on Fiona is uhh, pretty easy. I do it like, with a 99% precision.

Well, I'm interested in Karok simply because the gameplay seems sorta different.
Going to play around with him for a while then dump him, probably.
Besides, characters would get balanced eventually.

Yeahhhhhhhh... if you think perfect guarding is hard, you really need to learn how to play fiona. @_@
