I'm against Weed.
It's an addictive drug that causes harmful effects.
Honestly though, I'm also against Alcohol due to events in my childhood with alcoholic parents.
But anyways, that's just my opinion.
lol...
in my neuropsych class, they taught us about the effects of drugs. not only is weed not addictive, the worst withdrawal effect studied off of some people who did it all day every day for decades was simply a runny nose. However.. some people get extremely anxious when doing weed, so that would be the worst thing. There have been
no deaths ever recorded from marijuana overdose. this is probably because after like a couple.. theyd forget why they were smoking so many in the first place, ahaha.
their brain is also not adversely affected
at all. I'd probably go as far as to say it's the least harmful drug. additionally, if you do weed at drive, you'll more likely get pulled over for driving at 5 MPH on the highway. There's some impaired short term memory, time distortion.. but it's all temporary, and does no neurological damage, unlike many less stigmatized drugs.
Alcohol on the other hand, is the worst, worst drug, in the history of all drugs,
and causes the most problems than any other drug in society combined, where it is legal. It literally accounts for 20~30% of suicides (depression premorbid, usually with barbiturates), is involved of up to 50-70% of homicides, 50% of driving deaths, not to mention alcoholics take up 20~40% of the beds in a mental ward. It's really depressing. The prohibiton of alcohol turned back all those statistics for about 10 years, but then people just started doing it hidden from the eyes of the law and the crime rates spiked dramatically again to normal levels, where they lifted the prohibition. It's really a battle you can't win. The main problem was that people making alcohol on their own was that it wasnt controlled, so people were accidentally making methyl alcohol instead of ethyl, which caused permanent blindness.
the good news is, a single glass of alcohol actually is a stimulant, and makes you drive better. The problem is, no one ever stops at one glass. alcohol is a depressant after all. (it works through lifting inhibitions, inhibiting even inhibitory centres of the brain, which is why people feel more social, which is always fun. just gota moderate.)
I'd argue strongly towards legalizing marijuana. Legalized drugs are monitored and quality checked, and this is a huge deal because most illegal drugs don't just contain what you want, but carcinogens, toxins, even other drugs, which
will cause deaths. this is more of a problem for stuff like cocaine, though. And for something so harmless as marijuana, why should
that be illegal when alcohol is not?
long story short, moderation, once again, is the best thing in the world!
