Hold on a second, how did you get the damage boost from 75 to 124 max damage for Battle Swords?
The Artisan upgrade (~+70 strength=+28 max damage) is only a +8 max damage over the best 5th upgrade (+20 max damage)?
because strength is added directly to your character, so you get +140 str, not 70 (assuming dual perfect rolls) which means you get +56 damage. Let's assume 55 damage before 5th upgrade. Add 56 (from 140 str). That's 111. Now add S+6 upgrade of +31 which is 142. Now add in enchants. Boom :) Easily get 162 max.
That's probably where the jump is coming from, although I'm not sure. Maybe one of our math is wrong?
Edit: Oh lol slow posting :s
Although I think your math is wrong. How is it 49 max increase from before and after? It should be 36
I guess I'll had a little more math so this post is more meaningful:
For WM and smash, the damage is figured by adding the two weapon damages together right? And then adding base damage?
So if you had, for example, two of these battle swords (unenchanted) with 86 actual max (with S+6) +70 str each. That's 86+86+56(from 140 str) = 228.
Then had two war swords with perfect artisan (110 max, 80+30 from perfect roll). That's 110 + 110 = 220.
Then consider that single wielded battle swords are 86+56= 142 vs the war swords 110... these swords are better in every field.
The only drawbacks being the 1-70 range vs 0-30. The +6 S upgrade can blow up the weapon. A battle sword with perfect rolls getting +6 are probably over 4x harder than getting a war sword to 110.
In conclusion, battle swords will be the ultimate
human endgame weapons of G14 (besides 1h egoes). Hopefully, maybe, that clears some things up for someone
