I'd rate it more like:
Melee : giants > humans > > > elves
Archery : elves > humans > > > > > > > > > > giants
magic : elves > humans > > > giants
alchemy : all equal
martial arts : giants > humans > elves
Humans are not the best at anything, but they are near-equals to the best in all things, while the other two races suffer severe handicaps in one or more combat styles.
Also, if giants got final hit i would not complain again, ever. :D

Final hit doesn't have any real combat usefulness in anything we run endgame tho lol, even as fun as it is.

I tried to FH Neid yesterday. I was so happy to finally have it at R2, and I got owned. XD
I'd like to post my skills at TLv1800, but it'll have to wait until the game comes back up.

Actually to be fair on the Alchemy part.
Elves >Giants >Humans
Run speed + hide gives elves some things Humans and Giants cannot do. Giant run speed will help combos for Alchemy that Humans cannot do.
It doesn't sound like mucb, but there are so many times I think..if I could run just as fast as elf/giant I could do this with alchemy. As far as damage goes in Alchemy we are all equal.

Eka, even if I have near 650 max with fierce ribbons a giant can get near 750 max without (problem is that it doesn't appear that way in character screen because it's all averaged there, I'm talking of actual RAW damage).
That's why you saying that giants need 300 STR to catch up is wrong, it's elves that need 300 more DEX to catch up.
And I'm not saying elves need that damage anyway, because the mechanics of how range vs melee work balance it out and make a comparison based on damage irrelevant... but still, if you were meaning to say that you want giant melee to be on par with range in damage then you will have to lose 300 STR or give elves 300 dex for that to be true.

uh, fh is useless in targets with adv heavy stander. You do exactly the same thing with and without fh on those

Ah yeah, I was gonna say this as well. Elf run/hide is sooo nice... if I'm doing alch, I'm abusing these as much as possible when I do it. Hide saves lives.

Basically what your saying there is that Crash Shot is >>>>Windmil. Which it is.

I hadn't been to a field boss in aaaaaages, so yeah, I felt pretty dumb. Jaq showed up in time to watch me get knocked onto my back, so it was super-embarrassing. ;-;

Or Magnum >>>>>> Smash.
The fact that range has much higher DPS and easily chainable mechanics makes it a lot more efficient than melee (even if giant melee has 300 STR/DEX's worth of damage more than range) but then the fact that range can miss and aims slowly at a distance brings it back down to the same level of melee and both skillsets can remain balanced.

for martial arts isnt it giants>elves>humans. elves gain more will per level up and falcon trans gives 200 will +30max.

devcat changed the dmg modifier, elves get the lowest

there was a 10% difference in chain mastery but it seems like the higher max elves get from will (at least in trans) puts them ahead of humans even with the higher modifier.

Elves do not get more will per level up (except when comparing freebirth human vs freebirth elf). Elves also have like 30 less will than humans and 50 less will than giants... as well as slightly lower multiplier for the chain mastery and higher cooldown when compared to giant.
Giant > Human > Elf for the most part. They're all not too far apart, though... and practically speaking it's more like Giant > Human = Elf and you'd be hard pressed to find the difference other than maybe a slightly higher number here and three on the favor of humans.
