HALLE ****ING LLUJAH JESUS CHRIST FINALLY
for some reason weaving has been easier for me o 3o
but still the point is.. you need to hurt yourself doing those grindy life skills just to get efficient damage vs melee which is just ranking those skills just by training it and gaining ap.. level 500 pure melee can produce greater damage output than level 500 pure range.. nuff said..
what about melee doing carpent and fishing o 3o
ranking wm (b4 the destiny update)
killing ap at FH (worst ap/str rates)
just to notice you NEED enchants to do descent damage
not to mention u NEED to rank all the melee skills to make your damage look like you are doing something
besides crash shot is cheap (come on how a single plane and normal arrow can hit AoE?) for me is the golem version of archers
but less spameable at least
wm MAKES u go deadly to hit AoE (why? no reason, just cause u have to "pay" to hit AoE...why crash shot doesnt?)
but i guess this goes off topic
and about the lvl 500 comparison.... no
the only thing about those two "players" is that melee kills faster, when archer does it safer
the only thing about those two "players" is that melee kills faster, when archer does it safer
The AoE for range costs over twice as much AP as the AoE for melee. Range has all the same equipment costs as melee, the AP requirements are just as high if not higher, and the effort required to rank skills for damage is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse.
If i'd been a pure melee human/giant I'd easily have capped STR and damage from enchants/equipment 1000 levels ago. Instead, as an elf who does range, even though I already managed capped damage from enchants/equipment I still have to look forward to months/year of Blacksmith, Tailor, etc.
Range is also about being able to kill faster, not safer, at the risk of missing.
hmmm we were talking about 500 total lvl comparison, at that rate you dont kill faster than a melee (assuming both are humans)
ppl talk also about "damage cap" im comparing both damage growig rate/ap to get high damage
melee is like a plain growing line wich caps very fast, then again the damage output is low, when archers damage grows very fast but then goes way slower than melee at higher dex, still, archer damage and crit are higher at that point
also archer players are moslty lagless ppl that can spam it and not getting touched. Lets just not talk about elves and/or FS+Mag.
But when it comes down to it, ranged is still much safer if you're playing safely with it and not going all gung ho with the 0 shot crash shot.
I find zero shot mag/crash/range way safer than actually keeping your distance, though. You can aim fast enough to reach 90%+ and keep enemies stunned (and in range of exploding pets) instead of aiming slowly from afar and being capped at 80~84% accuracy while the enemy is running towards you.

That's just a few of the more common life skills which people rank for dexterity. Not only do those skills give dexterity while being ridiculously difficult to rank, almost all of them are totally worthless. At least ranking Final Hit gives you a situationally useful combat skill. Refine gives you the materials for Blacksmithing, which lets you smith equipment which is inferior to mob drops.
- Rangers need damage/critical enchants just as badly as melee characters.
- Arrow Revolver can be difficult and time consuming for new players to aquire. Which melee skills are difficult to aquire?
- The strongest ranged weapons are the highlander long bow and the spirit ring bow. That's around 155 max. The Sword of Elsinore/Spirit Bastard Sword are beaten by either weapon paired with a special upgraded Battle sword. Together you're looking at over 379 max. In order to max up for the pathetic damage output of ranged weapons, you'll need dexterity. How much dexterity does it take to make up for 224 max? It takes 560 dexterity and that's if you're looking at the ring bow versus the Sword of Elsinore/Spirit Bastard Sword combo.
Stop pretending that your build is so much inferior to everyone else's builds. The only "class" which is easier to dive into is Alchemy and not only are alchemists dependent on crystals, they have stunted potential.
Alchemists need a revamp.
Some sort of stat buff that gets adjusted.
Realized then alchemists would need the most AP to get the most potential then.
