Now everyone can be horrifically overpowered (more so) and monsters will still die in one~two hits. Where's my damn monster buff? Also, what of synthesis?
We really don't need regular monsters with 50,000 HP and the ability to do 10,000+ damage per hit if you aren't wearing armor.
Currently, I believe these are just some numbers Devcat threw around. After testing and finding out that, hey, if you wear heavy armor/light armor and use a shield you're invincible now with all the extra defense and protection you gain, they'll make some changes.
Or these changes are based around making hard mode/lord missions/grandmaster less reliant on one or two skills to make you invincible by abusing enemy AI or whatever. I don't know, I don't speak balance.
I do know that giving everyone that wears armor and uses a shield around 70+ extra defense and protection is excessive.
