  If I'm not mistaken, yes. Reforges are also going to be changed 1 to 4 per level.

  That's a fucked up formula
  
  If you had 0 defense and 20 protection, out of 100 damage, you'd only block 28.57 damage
  With 50 defense and 20 protection, out of 100 damage, you'd block 64.28571428571429 damage, protection only blocks 14.28571428571429 damage out of that 50.
  With 75 defense and 20 protection, you'd only block 15 damage, as protection only blocks 10 damage from the remaining total.
  
  Basically, the more defense you have, the shittier protection will be.

  From earlier in the thread:
  

  All titles that have a magic damage % increase will be changed to magic attack, and the amount will be x4 the original amount to reflect the new magic attack changes.

  All magic attack reforges will increase the magic attack by 4 per level.

  A-fucking-men. Why does nobody (Yakumo) realize this? To encourage Humans to use Light Armor, there needs to be a downside to Heavy Armor. Before this update, it was the accessory thing. Since statistically, Heavy Armor is 100% better than Light Armor in every way, they needed to place some restriction before in the form of accessory restrictions. Since that's being removed, if they didn't have a Dex restriction, nobody would use Light Armor because Heavy Armor would once again be 100% better than it in every way. If you want all of your Dex, wear Light Armor. You were perfectly fine with the argument being "If you want to use an Accessory, wear Light Armor," so why is it any different now? You keep complaining about Balance yet you fail to notice that "Balance" is exactly what's happening here.

  protection was always calculated after defense though. ;o

  That new damage formula seems like it won't be too friendly to lances. Unless I derped, which I probably did because I suck at math, it would be like 16 prot reduction on a 50 prot mob only reduced ~10 prot under the current formula.
  
  Add to that how dex adds armor piercing or w/e now... seems like lances won't be as useful.

  With piercing, it'd be reduced to 34% protection, so the damage absorbed will be 59.52380952380952

  for R1 Fireball someone determined that the damage coefficient was 9.0
  
  so, assuming the coefficent is correct and with 500 int with absolutely no added bonus (such as wand bonuses, fire mastery, etc.):
  
  Before: (Magic Attack 25)
  Magic Damage + ((Magic Damage/100)*Magic Attack)
  2400 + (24 * 25) = 3000
  
  After: (Magic Attack 100)
  Magic Damage + (Magic Attack * Coefficent)
  2400 + (100 * 9) = 3300
  
  
  Also if what I'm seeing are correct, the min/max damage coefficients are:
  
  Fireball: 6.00/9.00
  Ice Spear: 0.60/0.90
  Thunder: 0.40/1.40
  Blaze: 0.10/0.10
  Firebolt: 0.35/0.50
  Icebolt: 0.35/0.40
  Lightningbolt: 0.30/0.60
  Hail Storm: 0.90/1.40
  Shockwave: 0.30/2.00
  
  These values weren't present outside the test server client, so they are likely to be correct.
  Also the values are constant for all ranks.

  The damage absorbed would be 100 - 59.52... no? so ~40%. That means 16 prot debuff from lv 8 piercing in the new formula on a 50 prot enemy would be like only a 10 prot debuff on the current formula.
