I don't have time to play a bajillion questions for a single forum member who loves to ask way too many questions.
Mana Recovery is a solution to a non-existent problem. Having capped pretty much everything, with magic being one of my main talents, I have to say that it's been the easiest talent from cradle to grave. There are tons of ways to mitigate mana consumption; Mana Recovery doesn't concern me. What does concern me, is DevCat's continued lack of vision. Are they purposely leaving certain skills fucked up so they can push out yet another future talent overhaul instead of releasing new shit for us to do besides mindlessly grind new skills?
Adding new and flashy things is far easier than the task that it would take to actually make mabi "good."
A full rehaul of the damn 10 year engine, Which is would be RAD, but for the past few teams who've been running around like headless chicken, there's as little point hoping for that than to hope that HL3 comes out.
Well as a person focused more on providing information, I'm going to try looking more on the positive side of things to get myself and maybe others excited for the changes. We'll see where devcat takes this. I'm past the point of caring at this point. All I care about is if devcat does anything that catches my attention for 2 weeks xD. Be it a shiny new gach/outfit/pet or polishing up an old skillset and chucking a couple new shiny skills in there.
Game is going down the drain in terms of content and challenge, may as well suck in w/e they throw at us cause I guarantee you I'll play that shit when it comes to NA for 2 weeks and then stop playing as that's what seems to be happening for me lately.
So if something is OP meh, let it be OP. Not like it matters at this point. I'll enjoy it for 2-4 weeks either way *yawn*
If you want my honest opinion, complain all you want and stress yourself out about devcat fudging up another update. All you are doing is making yourself more miserable expecting something super awesome perfect. Your lives would be far happier if you spent less time complaining and throwing shit at devcat and enjoy the content they shove down the pipes. I'd rather leave it to the Korean players to complain to devcat to fix stuff. If enough koreans complain then maybe devcat will change it, otherwise the games decrease in population will speak for itself.

So, when are we gonna stop whining about that silly Mana Potion skill and be happy about the update?
I'm revving my engines for the archery update.
I already posted my predictions for the archery update and I'm definitely happy about most aspects of the magic update.
Instead of 420blazing NPC i'll be able to Final Hit NPC. I'm super excited for the archery update because i'll be able to Crash Shot NPC. Jesus christ, give us some fucking content. I hate logging in after an update just to log back out because nothing has changed.

I don't use Firebolt...so I very rarely have issues with mana. Firebolt is an exceptionally simple skill that's easy to use, easy to gear, and extremely effective. What limits its strength are the excessive durability consumption (not the actual repair fees, fuck anyone who complains about those) and the mana consumption. I would say that tactics which reward players for primate-level skill shouldn't exist but then Final Hit happened, so...

I imagine once they are done goofing around with all the skillsets they will finally get back to the Divine Knight storyline and maybe we'll get to go beat up a god. Group Girgashiy facerolls everyone who doesn't spam Windmill anyways xD Regardless of what OP crap they are carrying with them. Remove the WM AI Reset and you finally have content that people won't be able to faceroll :P
Uncapping meditation means that they would have to create more books for the new ranks and figure out where players would be getting these books from. That may be more than what they were going for in this update. Not only that but the new skill isn't meant to compete with or replace meditation. Even still, adding this skill has nothing to do with their decision to work on mediation or any other skill. There wasn't a limit to the amount of skills they could rework, they just decided that meditation wasn't a priority at the time. This skill is beginner and intermediate player friendly as it doesn't require book or page hunting. Considering what they said with int magic pretty much not being worth the amount of effort it takes to get them, beginner/low level player friendly is what they were going for. This might not help you but I know many people burdened by mp loss, so to say that the problem is non-existent is rather one sided and biased. Fire bolt only becomes a topic when chain casting is involved and even then it is not very effective without equipment for it; So if one ever has a problem with fire bolt it's more so a problem with upgrades/reforges and what not that make it "easy mode". Fire bolt is just as simple as almost any skill in this game. You press the skill and then press in enemy, or area. Almost everything does that so i'm not sure where the talk of skill comes in. You might have been exaggerating when you said magic is the easiest talent so i'm not going to address that much other than saying that: In terms of just ranking the talent archery, knight, and a few others can pretty much be ranked through just one skill, and in terms of fighting puppetry is just sitting there spamming two skills without much care in the world.
If you really look at the skills themselves, meaning without eqs, what is really messed up? I like to use weapons that can be bought from npcs, or weapons like trinity staff, without anything on them for usual runs and randomness. Considering this, I haven't come across anything overly broken except the slow charging speeds.
oh, and for the person who mentioned a re haul of the engine. If they were to do that they might as well make a new game considering that amount of work it takes to do that. I do believe mabi needs a better one though, so i'm all for it if they make mabi 1.5 with the same stuff just a better engine, thus better graphics and less problems. All of the images and models would have to go.

It doesn't have to be new books, it could just be quests.
Musical Knowledge and Composing were uncapped; while Composing got four books, three of MK ranks were just quests. Heck one of those quests had nothing to do with music.
For places I can easily see Stewart, Berched, and Shyllien giving quests for further Meditation ranks.
Also don't know where the hell people get so many MP 300's but I can only get a reliable supply of 100's. Having to use 10 potions to fill my mana is unacceptable either.
However it looks like the fools at nexon decided not to fix that problem and instead toss mana recovery at us, so I'm just going to take it and use it because it's probably the best we'll get for the duration of this game's lifetime.
This is the sad truth of magery boiled down to a single cringworthy point.
