i was expecting archery revamp before magic :x
It was teased to be magic first based on the appearance of the characters in the teaser video. First melee then mage then archer.

They did say they planned on addressing race later after they finish renovating the skillsets. Thus I would adjust your expectations accordingly and wait until they get around to adjusting race advantages.
Are they down grading blaze? are they?
I see... hmm...
Elves should be best with magic, and archery.
Giants should be best with melee and fighter.
Humans are inbetween.
I hope they don't screw up what made Mabinogi so special though... having almost no restriction or so.
Just as a serious question cause I'm legitimately curious. Does anyone here actually use magic in this game. It's been months since I've seen a public player actively use magic in one of the dailies I run, dragons I run, raids I run, and lords I run. There might be the occasional meteor at dragon but that's not actively using magic. That grabbing a staff, casting, then switching gears again.
I guess the reason I bring this up is because I'm honestly bewildered by the amount of players who consider magic to be a "good" talent. Now I use the word good loosely cause by all means magic can get the job done. It's just that when compared to ninja, gunner, puppets, lance, close combat, or archery it just does the job slower while also using more resources. Now their are some exceptions firebolt and blaze being two of them. Int magics though? I haven't seen one in a eons.
Now, even with these updates, magic is only marginally faster. We still have casting times, we still have stun/crack times. Magic still hast to deal with higher damage reduction than anything else due to magic protection and defense. I'll withhold my whole opinion until all these updates hit live, and will continue my endeavors to test the content. The thing is until further notice , my near capped int is still gunner fuel, and my reforged magic gear is still just blaze damage.
These are just my honest opinions about it. I have the gear, skill ranks, and stats to be a mage. I just don't do it cause it's not worth it when other things I have just do it's job better.

Having no restrictions would mean your choice of race not impacting your character. It's already not the case when it comes to items you can use, certain skills/ap req, and is fairly minimal on most stats so let's not make it even worse.

I fully understand doing what you want to do in this game. Shouldn't things still be balanced?
That's all I'm looking for is balance so that anyone can do what they want and not have the backlash of "slowing things down". I had hoped that the renovation updates would be balance updates but it doesn't quite seem that way.
