Just as a serious question cause I'm legitimately curious. Does anyone here actually use magic in this game. It's been months since I've seen a public player actively use magic in one of the dailies I run, dragons I run, raids I run, and lords I run. There might be the occasional meteor at dragon but that's not actively using magic. That grabbing a staff, casting, then switching gears again.
I guess the reason I bring this up is because I'm honestly bewildered by the amount of players who consider magic to be a "good" talent. Now I use the word good loosely cause by all means magic can get the job done. It's just that when compared to ninja, gunner, puppets, lance, close combat, or archery it just does the job slower while also using more resources. Now their are some exceptions firebolt and blaze being two of them. Int magics though? I haven't seen one in a eons.
Now, even with these updates, magic is only marginally faster. We still have casting times, we still have stun/crack times. Magic still hast to deal with higher damage reduction than anything else due to magic protection and defense. I'll withhold my whole opinion until all these updates hit live, and will continue my endeavors to test the content. The thing is until further notice , my near capped int is still gunner fuel, and my reforged magic gear is still just blaze damage.
These are just my honest opinions about it. I have the gear, skill ranks, and stats to be a mage. I just don't do it cause it's not worth it when other things I have just do it's job better.
I actively use magic for things like Girgashiy as it's the only that can give me reliable and consistent high DPS via firebolt spam. I also would use magic for things like Offering as it does a really neat job getting the mobs into the circle with great precision especially with lullaby.
Magic is also what I would use for Rafting and Hot Air Ballooning. I'd say that right now for me Magic gets just as much use as my gunner skillset. That's fine by me too different tools for different jobs that way I don't focus on just one thing as that would get boring after awhile.

Why not buff the lacking talents and add content that would've a challenge? That's how I had hoped these updates would go. While reading the crudeley translated interview they did mention adding content after these updates.
And king, smash does just as well if not better on George. As for rafting/ballooning those are outdated due to lich sketching and can be done just as well with range. Offering is also much easier done with crisis reforged.

I tried smashing and I did 10x worse fighting him than spamming firebolt. I don't get what people are doing with their Smash but as a human I don't see the same kind of damage and numbers that I get with firebolt. So damage wise, I'll stick with firebolt over smash. Not to mention unlike Smash, it doesn't rely on me having to run up to Girgashiy to do it. With firebolt I have a lot more control of running around his staff bashes and being able to get more hits off of him compared to trying to run up to him to smash for mediocre damage.
Most I've seen me do with my r1 smash was like 6k or some lame number like that. I get 25k+ crit's easily with firebolt >.>
At the end of the day it's devcats call, if you keep having high expectations you're going to continually be disappointed. Focus on just playing the game for fun instead of getting your titties all up in a knot cause you aren't see the leet damage you see with other skillsets >.>
Screw what other mabi players say, fuck em all to hell. I'll solo mabi to oblivion if I have to >.>

Questions to KR Testers:
- Mana vampire, as it actually STEALS mana? Or is it just a restoration, no stealing?
- Rate of Icebolt's movement speed reduction?
- Duration of Icebolt's movement speed reduction?
- Lightning Bolt extra damage 30% for all ranks?
- What is Fireball's impact time now?
- Ice Spear's frozen enemy reduced damage?
- Monster, pets, partners, and NPCs receive these changes? Considering that they weren't affected in Genesis or Melee Renovation, I doubt it.

Because if they buff everything to Gunner/Puppetry levels, they'll have to buff all enemies to keep the game interesting, which is basically a net nerf to all players. It's also much, much more work for them than simply nerfing the outliers.

In the long run it creates a better game to adjust the content. That's actually what a lot of players are wanting as well. Again thogh just my opinion.

Yeah, the dungeon is easy.
Just not for everyone though.

Wait, if they're lowering the cooldown of Snap Cast, what will happen to its training requirements? Are they going to fix that?
How is that 30% Lightning Bolt from 5 charges going to help, when every impacted enemy receives 10% less damage?

In the long run it makes a better game to adjust the outlying factors to be in line with the rest. Changing up the content is a good idea, yes, but changing literally everything to adjust to a few rogue skill sets is taking the long way around for no benefit.

I never used my herb farm. So lazy I just buy the potions even though I have bank pages full of herbs.

4.2 second full charge fireball rofl and ice spear lets you hit things. And Snap Cast will like, kind of always be up lol. And that's assuming they don't buff numbers (and if they don't nerf Firebolt now, they won't nerf it when the ego revamp comes out)
well, i didn't know they hired CertainlyT to renovate Mabinogi but thanks I guess.
