We need a mentorship system. I would be so good at teaching young minds.

A big reason why people from mabi don't like any games dealing with the holy trinity is because they like to see big numbers and one shot thing and things to go fast.

Or maybe the DPS queues for those games are too long because tanks/healers are more rare.

I just hate the concept of unavoidable mob autoattacks. You should be able to "perfect" a fight with enough skill, leaving damage as the result of a mistake. Between hitstun and wise offensive/defensive skill management, it should always be possible to avoid taking hits. It makes for a much more engaging experience then watching 2 guys shout numbers at each other until one falls over.

That has nothing to do with games with the holy trinity. A game can be designed in a way to have the holy trinity while allowing the player to potentially "perfect" a fight with enough skill.
An example is Tera. Every class has an invincibility frame (with cooldowns) to avoid any attack. Timing is very important to dodge certain attacks.

You are oversimplifying the combat of a holy trinity game to make it seem more dull than it really is. Perfecting a fight does not mean that the person should take no damage due to dodging or blocking attacks, thats just being bored as fk and trying to give yourself something to do after you have taken the content down the way the developers want you to at the bare minimum. You seem to miss the fact that a lot of people find it entertaining to just have a challenge to clear a fight than to just want to make it perfect by reducing as much damage taken as possible. Things like FFXIV are games that ask you to just clear the content not to try and make it as trivial as possible, since the ability to clear the content is a huge difficulty in some cases.
Also skill=/= less damage taken, sometimes content is so difficult that just clearing the content even with tons of deaths would be a huge accomplishment due to how challenging it is. Your welcome to have your own opinion (and I dont think its possible to change your opinion at this point) but please do try not to make it look as if your saying it as if its fact or oversimplify how you feel the content is and make it look bad by comparison.

Just play dark/demon soul saga. Its solo or team and you need pefect timing :) its easy if you do it right and you need no1 to beat it.
also, dodge or die!!

Holy trinity + Mabinogi's stunning system should make for great combat although the raids would stay the same. I wish FFXIV wasn't monthly sub

In Apostle Raids, there is the holy trinity. (Shield+Spike+Blade)
Quite different take of holy trinity...

I love how people are telling me that my opinion is wrong.
Opinions can't be wrong, guys.
I hate the trinity/autoattack system, you enjoy it. Both of those things can be true at the same time.

I never said your opinion was wrong, but wat I was arguing about were points you seemed to try to state as fact. Whether or not you intended for it to come off that way doesnt really matter, because those "opinions" could be seen as facts coming from you for viewers that havent played the game and take a first impression of the game based on those "opinions". To be honest, I personally think some of your opinions on FFXIV are extremely biased due to its reputation as being a "clone of WoW" (when it really isnt). I also feel like you generalize trinity systems as automatically being bad to you due to your experiences with classic games involving trinity systems even if that game isnt anything like the games you have played (though this is more directed at other games than it is at FFXIV). I guess a good chunk of my interest was to try and dismiss some of these generalizing factors about FFXIV to maybe make you change your mind a bit or your opinion even if slightly, though honestly that seems very very unlikely at this point and I dont intend to continue that endeavor. Most of it though was a lot of your opinions tended to be extremely simplified and over the top generalizations of specific parts of FFXIV in an attempt to make your point more clear, however honestly that annoyed me due to how incorrect those statements are if they had came off as you trying to make them factual.
tl;dr- Your welcome to your opinions and all and of course they arent incorrect if they are opinions, however do keep in mind other people who might not have played they game could be reading your criticisms and get the wrong impression of the game due to how biased they seem to come off.

I actually regret rolling DPS in FFXIV and once I buy Heavensward and resub, I'm rolling tank. DPS is not only less interactive imo, but fuck DPS queues.
Personally I think FFXIV has reached the pinnacle of the holy trinity but I think it's not as good of a base system than Mabi, but it's by no means bad. We just want DevCat to stuff Mabi with the same level of content as FFXIV (also what would be nice is GMs that would regulate the community and purge the turbocancers, not just the hackers etc but that's a pipe dream for a f2p staff) or rather, add more content and make existing content better.

what are turbocancers...
i think mabi
had a good base system, but they ruined it by releasing a bunch of new skillsets and changing the mechanics on old skillsets. and it's not so much that we're lacking in general content, but that we're lacking in relevant and challenging content. we have tons of content, it just all came in the form of new skills, new events with new items or new gacha/fashion items, and not much with regards to dungeon/SM system revamps or monster revamps.

Am I the only one here who absolutely hates XIV? WoW-style combat is the most boring thing in the world, and when a game is built around it it doesn't matter what else you do, the end result will never be fun.
Yeah I kinda feel that way too but I'm not level 50 yet so I'm painfully grinding there. Q.Q Right now it's my beautiful Au Ra keeping me sane during the horrid grind. xD
