My complaint about the defense isn't that it makes things too hard, but rather that it makes easily bested enemies with dumb A.I. take too long to kill. Smarter A.I. or new monsters skills would be a legit way to raise difficulty...simply pumping the mobs def/prot/hp only makes things more annoying.
Ciar Adv, for example. The monsters didn't have high hp, but they did hit hard and had several unusual skills at their disposal such as windmill, lightning bolt and smash on snakes.
Even in Vindictus, the hard mode doesn't boost higher hp (by some accounts it's lower) but the monsters hit harder. The way Shadow missions handle the adv -> hard transition is just poor design choice.
Fully agree.
The shadow archers right now make me laugh.

Yes... but shadow archers break the usual single mob aggro, and if they manage to get off a magnum shot oh man does it hurt (I swear they hack in hard mode :<).
But, as yogurt said, Ciar adv is a bad example cause as I said in an earlier post: Ciar adv is all everyone did everyday prior to g9 in order to get experience.

There's will be no more SMs after G12, I believed but Stage Dungeons instead, for G13.
Thank god!
Btw I still find regular dungeons funner than sms xD
The AI is also bothering me as well. I'd find that when I go up to hit a mob, another mob with the same mob type would aggro me right before my attack would connect because their aggro speed was so fast. They also get up way too fast, I have great latency and I find I have to tap the hotkeys as soon as I make a move otherwise I'd get hit instantly.

I prefer dungeons as well, but I find my self constantly doing SMs because no one runs dungeons anymore, and I hate soloing. I get lonely :(
About the monsters having to much hp, that is true in Hard o3o those things scare me. (Hits 3k with blazes, takes off half of shadow warrier hp o3o) uses defense, get aggrod by a archer and lancer. Oh the fun of it all. I have noticed that tara SM mission monsters have much much less hp and those missions are more enjoyable for the most part until a blinker comes and your like *Whatever cuss word you use*.
I think nexon should use all that empty space in iria and add new dungeons that give good exp that people would actually want to do, or revamp the exp monsters in our current dungeons give.
Oh, and for the archers. Crash shot is going to help alot, but honestly to be a good archer you have to rank a crapload of life skills. Thats why i don't like when people say being an archer is easy. Yes, mages take forever to rank there skills, and alchemist have to gather supplies and make endless supplies of crystals, and melee........umm.......uhhh.......well i got nothing for them, but archers have to spend alot of time ranking life skills to to be any good.
Now I shall end my poorly written post o3o

Combine both positives of dungeons and Shadow Missions into an experience.
Winner?

Fun >O I'd like dungeons that give the chunk of exp that shadow missions give at the end for completing a mission.
Also, I survive in Shadow Missions with range. I'm not awesome, but I carry stamina pots and Magnum+Regular Range+Magnum and can clear missions quickly enough that it's worth it. The EXP I get from them will help me rank my life skills, that will make me even better at SMs and just stuff in general, so yay. I really like the 30/50K (depending on my mood) extra exp I get in less than 8-14 minutes.

Ciar adv would be a good example, just thanks to the ridiculous nature of windmill it became possible to solo. I think that with the beefy shadow mission monsters they were hoping that windmill wouldn't be such a win skill...and while they may have succeeded in combination with the no resurrection statues it didn't work out for all the other methods.
Windmill is another beast in and of itself though, one problem at a time t.t

So you agree it should be nerfed =D

If they nerf WM, they should nerf a whole lot of other skills like ice spear, blaze, golem summoning, etc. WM is good, but it's honestly not as effective as it could be in hard shadow missions where there are rangers and mages everywhere which could kill you instantly since you're in deadly from WMing. Plus, the huge defense and stuff cuts like half of the regular windmill damage too. Also, windmill is nothing against multiaggro that isn't just melee. Countless times, I've had to run away from archers because they load in a ridiculous 1 second or something and try to shoot me while I'm in deadly. T.T

I think there should be a realistic cost to it. 10% hp on a skill that has huge AoE and can crit anything and makes you invincible for a few seconds is a joke. Imagine the rage if it got a few second cooldown like charge and the other potentially crazy skills.

WM is a ridicously OPed skill that incredibly cheap and should be nerfed. The rest are not. IS takes a crapload of mana for humans and even elves when they start spamming it. Blaze has already been nerfed twice and there nerfing it again. Also blaze only does extremely good damage with monsters about to fall. Golem summoning = farming tons of supplies to make golems, and then spending time making the golem. U also have to take into account the 10 mp and stam to make every golem. WM = spin, damage everything around you with a huge AoE radius as higher ranks for 10% of ur hp which can easily be healed by the healing spell or potting. The skill either needs to have its radius reduces drastically, because i don't see how you breakdancing at rank 1 can basically clear a whole room, or the skill needs to have a cooldown of like 10 - 20 secs like Crash Shot, or needs to use a crapload of stamina.

Zid wrote on 2010-10-12 02:49
But Crash Shot doesn't have a cool down time (anymore).
Also, Windmill has the smallest range (500) in comparison to Blaze (550), Ice Spear (600), and Crash Shot (700).
