Windmill lost it's edge in shadow missions, at the cost of everything else becoming a drag as well. That was my original point. I was wishing they had reigned windmill in rather than adjust the mob def/health to compensate for it's power. Since monsters had to be able to survive several windmills in order to have a chance they were super beefed up and the result is a less dynamic, less intense combat experience. Monsters do the same stupid things over and over...it just takes longer to kill them.
If monsters weren't so durable then our current windmill would basically laugh them into the ground, like it does now with ample pets. The upside would be that you didn't have to smash-smash-counter-smash-def-combo-counter loop to kill just one fighter.
*Disclaimer: I usually don't have to go through that loop. My damage is more towards the high end though.

As for the archer argument, all I have to do is look at my guilds token elf to see that you guys must be doing something incredibly wrong if you're getting owned constantly. Either that or maybe you have poor party mates and need to teach them how to support you the same way you support them.
I'm not sure it is fair to use your guild's token elf as a benchmark. I mean, that's a pretty high bar there. That being said, having been in a guild that is predominately elves for over a year, I agree they are doing something wrong, or need to improve their party's team play.

Windmill is suicide.
Without party heal or potion spamming or healing you'll die in almost no time.
I prefer a nice Life Drain after WM'ing into deadly.

Good team tatics is the most important part of this game, not being the asshole who trys to throw out the biggest numbers or show off by fighting things on there own ina party mission, id rather have an elf do -100 damage and work as a team player then a moron who just spams mindlessly on everything, this trend is rather large on mari, as a ra i see a lot of people that simply dont understand the concept of teamwork at all. if you want to improve on teamwork tactics run mission after mission with one another and find out what roles you best play, how you members work and what attack patterns they use, then after them adjust your selfs to each others methods and the end results will be beautiful

Can't you fire crash shot behind barrier spikes? xD
Yes you can and its a tactic I like to use against Blinkers in Ghost of Partholon's Boss room.
Go in, set Barriers in front of me, lure all 5 Blinkers in front of my barriers, and the CS them to death.
Unless a certain unhelpful party member messes around, the Blinkers can't do a thing

You don't blow up the barrier spikes with crash shot?
In that case you could use any archery or magic as long as it doesn't kill your barriers.

Though Crash Shot's fragment explosion is auto-targeting.
Just like Spark or Shock, It does not consider your allies, barriers, icemines as a target.

Its great, but you'll need a total of 490 AP to r1 it...
Such numbers... :doom:

I do LOVE spamming CS at Doppleganger and its dummies :XD:
Now all we archers need is a new Bow mastery!!!
Or atleast a new ranged weapon, I mean... just look at the crossbow!! wtf!!! I WANT MORE VARIOUS CROSSBOWS!!!
Although, to be honest, fixing the server lagging problem is the best update Devcat can give to us at this point. atleast in KR servers

490 AP is nothing compared to what you're getting and I bet lots of people have that much AP just waiting to max it as soon it comes out.

Its going to take me 7 weeks to get r1 CS which I am so going to do. 7 weeks, 70 ap a week, weekly rbs. Its gonna be like +350 total aswell. Going to be crazy but and I won't start untill I have r1 mag, smash and Ar (r5, r5 and r3 respectfully).
