I didn't say that last quote! D:<
Who knows, they might make damaging music :D
That and support shot is nice.

1. You can use melee attacks during windguard.
2. No one uses healing in combat outside of windheal. The ones who actually use party healing aren't doing themselves any favors.
3. Ice Spear deals raw damage
4. Bolts deal raw damage
Considering it's the main point of your argument, I'm disappointed that you're not bothering to fact-check.
Still, guess that shows me up for bothering to post.
Coming from a game that thrived off of the no-limit rule, is now going to add the option of severely limiting yourself.
Pretty drastic to me.
I'd hate to have any skills not available (that could be helpful in future generations blah blah blah) just because of a stupid class thing. Also, there is literally no class that I'd feel comfortable in (with the skills screwover). Staying as an adventurer is really no excuse.
And spammable as any other ranged skill? Sorry but, are you kidding? x_x Yeah they all have load and aim times, rofl? It's like saying "Smash and windmill both have load times, so they're both the same."
"Only" 15. It's hardly only. Magnum would actually be fit for wayy more situations. Also, it takes 230 AP to get to the 2 second load time, and anything below rA is 3 seconds. 3 seconds of load time + actual aiming time + possible aggro (even if the shot itself doesn't draw aggro, there's no guarantee that monsters won't aggro just because you're standing there) which would mean a -% from aiming if they're walking or running.... imo, not a spammable skill at all. If someone were to get aggro'd using this skill they'd be dead trying to hit the monster with it.
Also, for someone like me who doesn't rb weekly and is also a lazy bastard, 490 AP is a ridiculous amount to try and get, especially just to rank one skill to 1.
.
Yeah, very rare is my point.
Bard won't be a popular class, and it's basically the only class for pure archers.
I hate the stay an adventurer argument, it's everywhere.
Devcat will definitely try to make people go into classes, otherwise, there's no point. It's a big update, they'll want attention for it, and results.
Classes = more advantages = more people in classes.
Adventurers = falls behind = less people there.
1. But you're still stationary, and only can only take on so many enemies at once by yourself. Unless you're using Windmill, or are using a Battle Hammer upgraded for Splash Range, you're not going to hit every enemy at once. And if you use Windmill, you're tanking hits while draining a 1/10 of your HP every attack, meaning your Wind Guard isn't going to last long. And tanking in MMO's is usually a support tactic to draw aggro away from the less durable party members, so saying "You can use melee attacks during windguard" isn't that strong of an argument.
2. Pre G11S2 balance patch, yes you're right, anyone using Party Heal to support the party isn't exactly smart, but after it gets buffed to being useable, it's a great support skill. Sure it eats up twice as much MP for not as much HP recovery at the same rank of Healing, but considering that it's meant for healing multiple people, so if you're healing three or more people, Party Healing is more efficient than normal Healing. Plus healing 150 HP at a time is a lot better than healing 160 HP over time. Sure, it may only take a couple seconds more to distribute the healing, but considering that Party Heal is for support, that few seconds could really mean life and death.
3. Yes, it deals raw damage, and really shouldn't be used as a support skill, since it can actually screw over people's rhythm if they don't know how to handle the fact they can't do anything while the enemy is frozen. Plus the spammability of the skill also moves it more towards a soloing skill, since as long as the wizard has MP, it can keep the onslaught going, especially if said wizard is an Elf. If anything, the person using IS needs support from others in situations where the targets can't be frozen, and the IS will draw aggro towards the wizard and hit him if the monster's close enough.
4. Don't see how raw damage correlates to being used as a support skill. While yes, newer wizards will be using these as their main damage dealers, but for everyone else, specifically knights, it really is a support skill to stun the enemy to allow a party member to avoid a sticky situation, since it's a quick loading range attack. If you paid attention to the classes that Lassar has for the magic bolts, she even says that bolts are a great way to support the melee fighters, so your argument of "Bolts deal raw damage" is also pretty weak.
5. Play nice. This may be a touchy subject for some people, it doesn't mean that you have to get so totally defensive over what everyone says. This goes for everyone.
Another thought, what if the skill also draws out the affect of your magic scroll?
What's with people thinking that g13 is the end of all Adventurers? Was the Iria patch the end of humans? No. Ever think they could release a ranged skill for Bards and Adventures, like they released crash shot for elves and humans? If they wanted to end adventures this generation then why would they even give you the option to be one?
If hybrids can have it all then there would be no reason to specialize.
