Remember when people said puppet was going to be terrible and gunner was going to be the class everyone was going to use?
I remember.

Has anyone found a way around the First encounter quest? I was disconnected right as I was about to go learn the first skill and now I cant obtain the skill, talking to either of the NPC's does nothing either. If anyone knows whether or not there's a way to obtain the skill or if Nexon is planning to do a hotfix on this little bug.. please, let me know.

No idea if it's possible... For now I've seen a lot of requests on Nexon's forum for resetting the quest line.

smokescreen has i-frames. that alone sets it above a lot of other skills.
it's pretty funny when you set down mines underneath a flying blinker and watch them explode, killing it when they crit.
for the people who are trying to use charge shuriken, target while using defense if you're too close to the monster you want to hit. around 500 or 600 max and r9 shuriken you can hit 10k+ without any upgrade which is pretty funny.
i'd agree with a lot of people that the skill set overall is a little lackluster and repetitive to use. ninjas are definitely competent though. only 1 of the skills attracts aggro. it can seem clumsy/janky at first, but when you get used to it, you can clear anything you want to just as easily as any other skillset.

I like the new skillset but i hate the god dam training since it doesnt count Multi targets for stuff like bind or smoke or bombs makes them almost as worse as gunner

Personally I find Ninja just as fun as gunner. I plan on using the two together. I don't follow what others say about a skillset. I reject Puppetry to a fault and refuse to use it. I ranked it for the stats and haven't really touched it since.
People think Gunner sucks, screw them, I use it as my main skillset anyways :D
As for the small AoE of smokescreen. Name me one skill that decreases the defense of MULTIPLE targets. It's not like the Bone Dragon has a large AoE for it's defense decrease. Smokescreen I feel is fine as is, mainly due to the whole decrease defense of multiple targets and not a single target like fighter's debuff does. Only other skill I can think of with a debuff like smokescreen is Fantastic Chorus when used with Battlefield Orchestra, Lullaby, or Vivace.
Sakuyra Abyss charge time is actually not bad. I have just enough time to get into a group, start charging, summon a cloud, and be set to unleash when they wake up. I mean sure Climatic Crash or Shooting Rush could do the damage faster. I can't wait to see the damage it does at higher ranks. I'm impressed with it's damage at rD that's for sure.
People are way too harsh on skillsets that isn't puppetry level and it really saddens me. Oh well, that's just my two cents on it.

Blaze doesn't need you to already have a target.
Note that you can blaze closed mimics due to this.
(I love going mimic bowling for fun.)
There are a few usability issues with ninja skills, such as the targeting needed, smokescreen only removing def, some skills just don't want to fire off at the right time/position, etc.
But give it time for people to figure out how the skills work and what they bring on a meta level, and some combos might be neat or some special skill uses might be found and it'll be a skillset you see used around. Also remember that not every player has capped stats and all sorts of other skills to do these sorts of things with already.

Frankly it's too clunky right now. There are some cool ideas, but many problems. Notably the inability to choose your Shadow Assault target, the extremely finicky range+targeting on Shuriken Charge, the long delays after using many of the skills, etc. I think just cleaning them up for better usability and probably tweaking some multipliers up a bit could catapult this into being in meta use. Shuriken Charge alone does stupid amounts of damage, and Sakura can be fun, but most of the others are currently kinda mediocre.
Smokescreen needs to cut some prot for sure, and debuff enemies that walk into it, Shadow Bind needs higher base time (seriously I should not need to use a master title for a skill to be useful) and other assorted stuff.

Smokescreen needs to not suck, shadow bind needs to be like 4-8 seconds depending on rank, shadow cloak needs targeting, and charging needs target fixes... but other than that most skills are at least usable easily.

As someone who primarily uses guns, I'm definitely underwhelmed by Ninja and only ranking the skills because they boost STR (of course they do...). I can only see it as a sub/secondary skillset, so good luck to anybody attempting to main it. :x
And who needs Shuriken Charge when you have Flash Launcher? c:

I see one huge upside to it, for me anyway. Ninja skills have every potential to hybrid perfectly with melee. You can perform all close combat skills with a shurikin, and based off the stats of my Starblade, I'm thinking a properly upgraded and reforged shurikin could be an effective melee weapon, meaning you can fully hybridize without switching weapons Also, I think my the ninja skills have the potential to blend well with melee combos, although I'll need to test that theory on so. Even monsters that are actually somewhat challenging.

Hey, just here to comment about your bone dragon comment
Watch this.
Bone dragon seems like a pretty large AOE to me.
I think smokescreen could use a small buff.
The problem I have with the ninja skillset is that it's not a very smooth skillset. It seems really clunky to me, a little awkward to use. And some people may argue that being clunky has no effect on damage output, but I think it does. If it doesn't really feel right to me, then I'm gonna have a hard time using it. Why does it feel clunky to me? People have already listed those reasons; the smokescreen is somewhat underwhelming, the targeting on shuriken charge, shadow binds duration is so short, made even shorter by the fact that even after the enemies are bound, there is a delay as the animation ends.

The biggest problem is that many of you probably have done good enough damage to think this is underwhelming. I'm gonna ne honest, I think it's underwhelming as well, and my damage really isn't high either.
All I'm saying is there is too much bias atm. Give it some time to get all r1, then we can compare.
