Seems like a lot of the ninja skills are sort of useless (smokebomb) except for the stats. The AOE doesn't seem outstanding due to long cooldowns (compared to shooting rush/act 7) nor does the 1 on 1 (like fighter)

Ninja is the worst skill set ever, if you ask me. The way it plays just has so many problems.
Shadow Cloak has an obscenely long cooldown.
Shuriken Charge requires you to be already targeting your enemy for you to begin charging, and you cannot change targets.
Kunai Storm requires you to have your attack centered around a monster, severely limiting its AoE potential.
Smokescreen AoE is too small.
Sakura Abyss takes too long to charge and has a small AoE.
Shadow Bind is the only skill that seems well balanced. Anyone that "mains" this skillset is either really dedicated to being a ninja, or just plain masochistic.

It could work well enough as a support set. But agreed; most of the skills really don't work too well if you were to main it.

Shadow Cloak has an obscenely long cooldown. Elf Hide has a 30-second cooldown and cannot be used in combat, for comparison.
Shuriken Charge requires you to be already targeting your enemy for you to begin charging, and you cannot change targets.Like Blaze. Eiry's Shuriken Charge hits for 2.5k crits at rank F, so Eiry thinks it's good enough.
Kunai Storm requires you to have your attack centered around a monster, severely limiting its AoE potential. So does Fireball, and pretty much every other AoE skill in the game. Though, Act 7 does heavily outclass this skill.
Smokescreen AoE is too small. Fighter debuff is single-target only, so this is a bit of an upgrade.
Sakura Abyss takes too long to charge and has a small AoE. Eiry has no comment on this because the AoE might get bigger as it ranks. Eiry doesn't know, though. If it doesn't, then Eiry agrees that Sakura Abyss could be better. Especially with that cooldown.
Shadow Bind is the only skill that seems well balanced. Anyone that "mains" this skillset is either really dedicated to being a ninja, or just plain masochistic.
Eiry's two cents.

So a skill that drops all agro and allows you to get an attack out on the nearest thing without redrawing any agro needs to have a shorter cooldown? kk. I'd like my instant load raincast 5 sec cooldown now plox.
I have yet to have any problems with Shuriken charge. It's good for after counter, or if you're smart, once you tab target someone before you go to fight it. I've only had ONE problem with not being able to switch targets and that was when I was targeting something and going for a full charge and it walked out of range as another guy finally agroed me. Other wise, it's been really fun and decently strong. I love when it's close enough hit more than one target.
Kunai storm is fine the way it is. Do you really want a multi hit ranged wm? People already complain about how OP things are (even now with how the skillset is I've seen that.)
Smokescreen is srsly just a joke sadly...
Abyss was already claimed to be a party skill, or require some other support skill to get it going. A small AoE? Doesn't it get as large if not larger than WM range and hit a hell of a lot more? That seems balanced to me that you have to charge it.
It might just be my shity net/comp but Shadow Bind really sucks early on compared to the other skills early on. No doubt it's great later though.

I don't like how Shadow Bind caps out at 5.5 second base duration at r1...
It really doesn't seem good, just because of how obscenely short its duration is.

although I know the title isn't better than a stat title, but the shadow bind title gives +5 seconds. I plan on using it myself as I love the skill.

I hear shadow bind has a duration reforge that boosts it an okay amount, too.

I find a few things to be concerned with ninja:
Charging Shuriken:
-The inability to switch targets.
-The requirement to target something to use.
Explosive Kunai:
-This thing actually takes quite a while to start up...
Shadow Cloak:
-Weak damage (120% at rank 1).
-Targeting function (skill double tap, hits nearest enemy rather than clicking).
-Single target and not an AoE.
Smokescreen:
-Why the hell can't you put it directly on an enemy?
-How it doesn't affect aggro.
Other than that, everything else is fine.

Just so you know, you can bypass raincasting's cooldown with a good enough reforge to make it endless.
I think the problem from what i am hearing is that it's just like every skillset. Has a few useless skills and 1-2 good ones.

Shadow Cloak is suppose to be an oshi-- button rather than an AoE whirlwind of death that every skill apparently has to be these days. It's incredibly obvious what its intended use is considering it A: stealths you and B: shoots out a tornado that knocks an enemy back. Complaining that It "only" has 120% damage is like complaining that elf hid doesn't give your next attack a 500% damage boost.

Shuriken charge:
- Requires charging at close range, making it as useful as blaze.
- Requires selecting targets in advance and doesn't allow to switch them.
Smokescreen:
- Definitely too small AoE.
Sakura Abyss:
- Getting full cooldown when it doesn't hit anything (even if it should).
Otherwise I'm pretty fine with the skills.
Like others mentioned, for sure not recommended as main skillset, but may be useful addition to other (probably knight / warrior / fighter).
For now planning just to clear all 4 quests and deranking skills afterward. For now all the extra stats will be a problem for magic training, but later they will be useful.

This thread appears with every new skillset now
-Your skills don't have appropriate ranks
-Nor do you have proper knowledge of the skills
-Or a mature equipment set (+reforges)
Also
-You probably already have a skill for virtually every scenario
-Making a skillset more useful than the others would be criminal
Have some faith and you may be surprised, or maybe it is just underpowered.

Smokescreen is great for using right before you log off, then it looks like you ninja-poofed.

Yeah, it does happen with each new skill/skillset doesn't it? Here's what it always comes down to too.
Does the skill set have skills that shit wreck everything extremely fast? Yes: THIS IS SO STUPID AND BROKEN OH MY GOD WHY IS THIS IN THE GAME NERF NERF NERF! No: This skill set sucks, lol.
Does a skill from said skill set greatly improve other skills/party play/solo play? Yes: Urg, this shit needs a nerf so badly. Why would they even do this?? No: This skill set sucks, lol.
Does the skill set have a single skill that requires any amount of work to use? Yes: This is so lame, god I wish they'd change this. It's so stupid! No: Remember when we had to work for our dmg?
I mean sure, every skill set has it's ups and downs, but srsly, that's all it ever comes down to for most people. I won't deny that I wish a lot of things in this game where different/worked differently, but I have never had so much fun running rundal HM normal solo before and that's all that maters, having fun. Well for a good few people anyway.
